RUNNING

Even though I don't love running as far as the actual act of running...I do LOVE the way I feel after I run. It feels so good! And it is also a great feeling knowing I am able to do something I used to think I could never do!The Ogden Half Marathon

RACES

Entering races keeps me motivated to keep running and training. It gives me something to push myself towards and a goal to work up to. They are also a lot of fun when you do them with friends!

RABBITS

How can you not love rabbits? They are the cutest, cuddliest, and softest animal on the planet. We've had two...Bandit and Dobbler (or Bob or Steve or whatever the boys decided to call him that day.) Bandit was Tyson's and he was spoiled! I mean how many bunnies do you know that celebrate their birthday's each year? Bandit died a couple of years ago and What's His Name just disappeared one day. Both pix are of Bandit. Isn't he so stinkin' cute??? And I do mean that literally! :o)

READING

I really love to read. Whether it's books or on-line or whatever. I love to be learning something new or taken into a different world for a while.

RAIN

Rain makes me happy! It puts me in a good mood immediately and I usually don't want it to stop! I could be very happy living in Washington! (or the rain forest!)

RECIPES

I LOVE recipes and recipe books! I like collecting them and I love trying new ones out and experimenting with my own. I have put together two large recipe books from different organizations and I loved every minute of it.

REMEMBER

This word has become very important to me. We have so much in our lives that is good if we will REMEMBER to focus on that instead of what isn't. We will then find the joy that is there. This word has a lot of meaning for me in other ways as well.

RISK

No...no...no! Not the board game! I actually detest that! That game can go on and on for hours on end! My boys and Dave love it, but not me. The risks I am talking about are the ones that we have to take if we want to grow and progress in this life. Life is a risk. Just getting up each day and walking into that big world is a risk. But life wouldn't be worth living if it wasn't a little risky!

RESTAURANTS

Love em! My favorite thing to make for dinner is reservations! I know I just said I like recipes and trying them out, but that also goes for trying out other's recipes too! That is like twice the fun!

RANCH DRESSING

It isn't just for salads anymore! I put it on baked potatoes and pasta and dip my pizza in it. It is a great sauce for just about anything!

Ever heard of a Ranch Dressing fountain? Hmm.... I mean - Mmm...

You are supposed to choose the fourth picture from your fourth folder and post it. Now that seems like a relatively easy thing to do, IF your folders are in the list file....but mine are not and so I had to decide if I was going to choose the fourth one DOWN or the fourth one ACROSS. I thought BOTH were worthy of posting and so that's what I did!!!

They now finally own a mini one.

I found this photo in the same folder and just couldn't resist posting it too...since it IS Halloween and all! That is McKay looking out our window and that SPIDER you see is REAL! It is a tarantula. We have lots of them around here. The interesting part is, the only time of year that we see them is around Halloween! Creepy....

Life's QUIRKS!

Here's SIX of mine!

I can't stand to touch raw meat.It makes me sick to even think about it. I make meatloaf a lot because my boys love it but I have to wear surgical gloves when I make it. If I am cooking any other kind of meat I have to pick it up with a fork or something else. Ew! It just turns my stomach.

I have to have all my canned goods with the labels facing front.
It drives me crazy if my pantry food isn't organized. The labels on the cans have to all be facing the same way. When someone messes with them, I have to immediately fix them. I like my pantry to look like a store shelf. I used to work at a little grocery store and when we weren't busy it was my job to "face the labels". I loved doing that! Guess it stuck. If I am at someone else's house, I have an urge to go and face all theirs the same way too. I want everything orderly, though it is a rare day if it ever always is around here.
I cover the toilet seat with TP no matter what bathroom I use.Guess this stuck from when my Mom taught me to do that when I was a little girl. I even will occasionally do it at home. If you lived as the only female in a house full of males...trust me, you would at times too!
If I am barefoot on a bathroom or public floor, I curl my toes.Not sure why but I automatically do this. I guess I think it protects my feet somehow from stepping on the floor. Especially swimming pool bathrooms etc. If I can't wear shoes then I curl them. I also have to wear socks to bed if I am not sleeping in my own bed.
I can't throw out the newspaper until I have read it.If I don't have time to read the paper, I will save it until I do. I will have a huge stack sometimes before I get to them. Then of course I just page turn as fast as I can to make sure I didn't miss something important. If the stack gets too high (like during Christmas), I have to force myself to just chuck them all.

I like to pick at things.

I love to pick scabs, zits, peeling skin from a sunburn, etc. If my babies had cradle cap, I would pick at it for hours. I couldn't stand to have any left on their scalp. I also like to get a toothpick and just dig in the grooves of the stove or other appliances to get out the junk. If there is something stuck on the counter-top or table, I will go at it until it's off.


When I was pregnant with McKay I ate dry raw oatmeal and dry Minute Rice by the cupful. Pretty bizarre I know! I had a craving for both and I would indulge myself in them. It went away immediately after I delivered him. Weird! Oops, that's seven! That's another one of my quirks....I always tend to over do it!

What is your least favorite word?Vomit (makes me just want to throw up!), diarrhea, snot, slacks, gristle, F word, phlegm, mucous, taking the Lord's name in vain, goodbye, pain, cancer, and a few that I can't even write!
What turns you off (creatively, spiritually or emotionally)? Criticism or put downs.

What’s your favorite curse word?Sorry I don't have a favorite one of those! My least favorite one though is pissed. Don't even like to write it! Even though most people don't think of it as a curse word, I do and I hate it!
What professions other than your own would you like to attempt?I have always wanted to be a journalist, but I also think being a professional organizer would be fun. At one time (in 7th grade) I actually wanted to be an archaeologist! Glad that desire went away.
What professions would you not like to do?A mortician, sewer treatment plant worker, plumber, sanitation engineer (aka garbage man), or a pest control exterminator!
If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?There is no "if" for me, it DOES exist. I am really hoping His words to me will be, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter now into my rest."
