MERRY
CHRISTMAS 2013
This year has flown by -
not quite sure where it went,
Seems it's been only weeks
since our last greeting was sent.
You think I would learn at
this time of the year,
Christmas is supposed to be
full of holiday cheer. (ho-ho-ho)
I hustle and bustle yet
still fall behind,
Maybe one of these years
I'll catch up with my mind.
In the meantime I'll take a
moment to glean,
Our happenings in the year
2013.
After 20 years Dave
still loves being a doc,
Though Obama's new health plan
he thinks is a crock.
In his fifth year as
Bishop the end might be in sight,
Though demanding at times-
he still sleeps through the night.
He earns money, I spend it
- he takes care of the books,
He’s a master at
gardening, better yet likes to cook.
Pickleball’s his new
passion - he’s got quite the reach,
The most difficult part-
it’s me he’s trying to teach.
Still living in Brigham -
I pretty much run this town,
From one end to the other -
up hills and down.
Running here, racing there
- seems my theme for the year,
Did 'Relay For Life' in
memory of Gina...a friend very dear.
Ran the Ogden Marathon in a
downpour of rain,
26.2 miles of
"fun" - must be missing part of my brain.
Organized
a fund raiser for Boston - pacer with
the American Flyers,
Debuted
on the big screen - for fun not for hire.
Doing sales in Florida, Georgia, and Reno too,
Sky's nomadic life is nothing new.
"Enduring" eight months in Hawaii
he's got himself quite a tan,
Dined
on eel for Thanksgiving - saute's giant prawns in a pan.
He
bought a car and a boat (the inflatable kind),
His
skin diving pix are cool - though I think he's out of his mind.
Swimming
with seals, spear fishing, or getting chased by a shark,
His
life's an adventure, though I'm often left in the dark.
Bryce loves
camping and hunting - waterfowl he pursues,
Rolled our 4-wheeler down
the mountain - escaped with only a bruise.
(the 4
wheeler didn't fare quite as well☺)
He moved to California this
spring to work for a time,
Back home now to try and
save a few dimes.
Worked at the Museum of
Natural History (at the U of U)
Now at Willard Bay Lights
til' the season is through.
Off to Hawaii in January to
work with Sky he might proceed,
A GPS tracker on these boys
is what this mom needs!
Elder Taylor Wilding's in
Brazil preaching the good word,
Living on the equator now
where he just got transferred.
Been out 14 months (almost) just
10 more to go,
But who's counting?
Hmm... I just wouldn't know. ☺
His third pair of shoes are now "holy" - he walks all over the
land,
Loves the food (even alligator) - washes his clothes all by hand.
In the Amazon Jungle - heat and rain they don't lack,
He loves Brazil so much - we're not sure he'll come back!
McKay turned 16 - he's legal to drive,
I
refuse riding with him - I prefer staying alive.
He now
works at the clinic - following the path of his bros,
Does
yards in the summer to earn him some dough.
He
knows NFL stats like the back of his hand,
But
that bedroom of his looks like a deserted wasteland.
He
lettered in football - he's a social guru,
He's
dating (yes my baby!) - what's a mom to do?!
Bryce's
pup Kilo was hit by a car in July,
We all
loved him so much - a real tough goodbye.
He's
now with Tyson in heaven not too far
away,
A
reminder life's fragile and to cherish each day.
May
the true meaning of Christmas find you this year,
As you
gather together with those you hold dear.
We
hope that your Christmas is merry and bright,
As you
remember the Savior and follow His light.
Love, the Wilding Family
Dave,
Jodi, Skyler, Bryce, Taylor, McKay, and Mr. Cat
