*MONDAY MEMOS*

(If pictures are too small, just click to enlarge)
Weekly recap of my rather crazy, insane, but fun and rewarding life!

dear monday, I got about four hours sleep (if that) last night.  Dave was in and out of the room and kept waking me up.  Once I am awake that's the end of it.  Sigh....  I was not in a very cheerful mood all day because my lack of sleep is catching up with me. Dave took Carson to school and I headed out to walk. I caught up on my online party for Norwex and right now I am at $750 in sells!  Woot!  So happy!  I practiced the harp for a good two hours.  I worked hard on The Miracle and it has a lot of glissando's and because of those I now have a blister on my thumb!  Great!  I went and got Carson and we went to Wendy's for a Frosty and nuggets.  We saw some pretty gruesome houses decked out for Halloween.  I like the cute witches and cats, not this stuff. Creepy!
We came home and did his homework and reading and Sarah and Sky called. Tomorrow is the big day they are going to the castle in Germany! I am so excited!!!   We started to make our haunted gingerbread house but it wasn't working worth squat. I should have made my own royal icing so it would work.  Dave came home and we went to Bro. Hall's viewing at the church. Carson went with us. We came home and I just wanted to go to bed, but I worked on this and then we did the phantom again because no one is doing it!  There should be at least 25 by now....more if everyone did it!  Probably 100 by now. So I backed down and decided that I would do it one more time. Only four this time and then it will be what it will be. Party poopers!

Is there anything more precious than a sleeping child. This little one is so angelic!

dear tuesday, I got on here on Nov. 3rd to get this finished and posted and EVERYTHING WAS GONE!  Monday of this week was here above but the rest of the week has vanished!  I had every single day already written but when our power went off and the computer crashed it didn't save ANY of it! I don't get it, but I am BEYOND frustrated!  So the rest of this week will be just what I can remember by the photos.  UGH!  Dave was off today.  I think I walked.  I remember he took me to Taco Time for lunch only because I have the photo. Hah
We then headed to Brinlee's dance class to watch but they only let you for the last five minutes. And you can only peek through the door.  When she saw me I heard her yell, "That's my Jodi!"  She was jumping up and down and so cute and excited and she danced so pretty for me. It was so sweet. Liam was so cute too. I took them for a treat to Yogurt Factory after. They were so cute. It was a lot of fun.

And....  No idea what else happened but I'm sure it was a great day!  I did take Carson past the scary houses in town. There are some crazy ones!  I do know Sky and Sarah went to the castle today but it was too foggy to get any photos. He only has one day (tomorrow) to pull it off!

dear wednesday, today I had my harp lesson. I ran some errands after but had to get back because it was early out for Carson. We came home and worked on the haunted gingerbread house. It turned out pretty cute!

We got ready for the ward Halloween party. I painted his face like a panda and he threw together his own costume because he wanted to be a panda. He did a great job!   This kid is more like an adult when it comes to being responsible and just about everything else.
Dave didn't make it to the party so I took some food to his office and spilled it all over as I was walking down the hall.  Oh well. He's not a big fan of chili anyway. It was a chili cook off.  I dragged some peeps into the spook alley as per tradition. Had to add both because of Carson's face in each!
Audrey if you're reading this, we missed you!  It wasn't exactly a spook alley. There were a couple of young men hiding that jumped out and scared us but ZERO props unless you count the pitcher of water with a glow stick in it. Hmm...  A little surprised. They used to go all out. It was fun though.
Sleepy panda!

Drum roll please......

THIS happened!
 FINALLY!
No words!  But let's just say I am SO happy and excited!
He proposed at Neuschwanstein castle in Germany. Her dream! It is the castle that inspired Walt Disney's castle in Disneyland.

Sky designed her ring. It looks like a crown! So pretty!
She was dressed up like a princess for what she thought was a photo shoot. SURPRISE! SURPRISE!

They saw this in Europe!  Just in time for us to see the Lion King!

dear thursday, I had a dentist appointment early this a.m.  I think I went on a walk after?  No idea what else happened other than I set up for vball and took dinner to Dave's parents (stuffed peppers and browned butter banana cake).

I had stake vball.
Carson stayed with Dave and they had some fun. McKay was here and they had boy time as well.
Dave went and picked up Sky and Sarah from the airport. They landed about 11:30 pm. Carson and I were snoozing when they got back home.

dear friday, I hit the gym this a.m. My goal is to go three times a week.  It is making a difference as I can tell by how my limp is first thing in the morning.
Sky and Sarah were up really early this a.m. They are all messed up with jet lag. They had a great time. Carson was happy to see them but I was at the gym when he first saw them so I missed it.  They told me all about it and I got to see tons of their videos and pictures. I am so jealous!  It's so beautiful there!  They brought me home a gorgeous purple place with the castle where he proposed on it. So pretty! And lots of European chocolate! Yum! It's the best!  So excited!
I took Carson and we went to the Animal Shelter to meet Haylie and the kiddos. She wanted to teach her kids service and so invited us to come. She took a ton of dog toys and treats to donate and then we visited the animals.
We were in there for a long time and had so much fun with the dogs and cats.  She is truly amazing to do that. I was impressed. Liam and Brinlee were hilarious. Liam kept telling the dogs to "Shhh!".  Carson and Brinlee covered their ears because the dogs were barking so loud at times.
I felt so bad for all of them. I could never work there. It would break my heart.

I came home and got ready for the Witches Brew and Stew. I was excited!

I picked up Julie and then Lynda and we headed to the Indian church.  Leann O. puts it on and she did a FABULOUS job!
It was so much fun!  I enjoyed it much more than the other one we usually go to.  She had everything all decked out.  I took lots of photos (imagine that!).

My new best witchey friend! She wasn't feeling well so she's a wee bit green.
We ate, played bingo, did a witches quiz, learned a witches dance, and other fun things.
Then they awarded the Witch of the Year (based on costume). The judges kept looking at me and Julie. Julie told me I was going to win and I told her she was going to win. When they announced it was going to be a new witch this year, we knew it was one of us.  She won!
I was so happy for her. She was SO excited and she deserved it. She looked adorable!  She said she couldn't wait to tell her kids! Haha
My friend and American Mother colleague Collette was there!  She came and said hi!  Good thing because I didn't recognize her!
After the party they have a city scavenger hunt and so we thought that sounded so fun. We hit Smiths and asked if they had Turbo twin engine broom.  Everyone was laughing and telling us how cute we looked. It was fun. Then we went to Old South BBQ and asked if they had any bones and gristle leftover. They were closed so we had to go to the drive through and ask. So funny.  We then hit Burger King and I asked for three lizard burgers. Julie said, "Hold the blood!" and Lynda said "With a side of flies please!" Some guys were laughing. Then a bunch of other witches arrived from our party. We got our photo with them.  Hah  We then asked some guys in the pkg lot if they knew where we could get a Turbo Twin Engine broom. The one asked his friend if he knew and they were dead serious when they told us no. So we cackled and drove off, then they realized it was a joke. We then hit the Maddox Drive through so Julie could show her sister our costumes. Then we hit Walmart where we had to ask for cough syrup because our cackle was a little raspy and ask if they had wart remover. The clerk was laughing as well as a few other employees. We then zoomed off to Maple Springs to say hi to Juile's mom. She was so cute and happy to see us. It was pretty late by then and we were sure the others had gone home so we called it a night.  Fun fun!

dear saturday, it was FREEZING this a.m.  and we woke up to SNOW!  MERRY CHRISTMAS!  UGH!  Not ready! Sarah and Carson went to Pumkinpaloosa and Sky was working as was Dave. I was alone!  It was odd.  But I got a lot done.

Sky did an amazing thing to involve Carson in the engagement. He wrote up a story for him and then had him draw photos on them. It was how they met etc.  He then hid them and had Sarah find them and the last one was a proposal and the ring.  Carson was able to be part of it and they aren't going to tell him he proposed in Europe until he is older. It was the sweetest thing ever. Here is what he wrote for Carson on one of the last ones. Carson was SO SO SO happy!
Sky is amazing!
Ahh... makes me cry with tears of JOY!
 Sweetest thing ever!
Sarah's ring is GORGEOUS!  It looks like a crown! Sky designed it himself.

I took Carson to a trunk or treat at Niagara water. It was SO cold that we were done in 12 minutes flat! Hah  We got lots of treats, but the best was the hot cocoa! Yum!  SO COLD!

dear sunday, we went to church and the kids practiced their program. I recorded The Miracle so I can practice with it. It had all the teachers crying including me. Oh wow! That song is so powerful and it brings in the spirit so strong!
I love it!  I am exited to play the harp with them. I hope it really brings in an added spirit to it.

I came home and made chicken enchiladas and Spanish rice. So yummy!  I used the recipe from the Witches Brew and Stew that a lady shared from a dip.  Excellent sauce for enchiladas

Carson and I built castles and then face-timed Taylor.

I still can't believe the snow!!!

It's pretty scary! At least in Octoburrrr!

dear boston marathon, the article in the Ogden Standard written about me before the Boston Marathon in 2018 is HERE. And for documentation I am adding it here. It's possible I already did last year, but can't find it, so if it's a duplicate, oh well.

These are the photos that go with the article:
