It's All Complimentary!
Breakfast ~ What is a compliment you have received that you still remember?
Lunch ~ Do you compliment others often?
Dinner ~ How do you usually react when given a compliment?
Midnight Snack ~ What would be the greatest compliment you could receive and why?
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?)

MY ANSWERS
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Breakfast ~ What is a compliment you have received that you still remember? Many year ago, I was shopping with my Mom in Sam's Club with all my boys when they were little and a few of them were being "boys" who would have rather been anywhere else but shopping.  I was doing my motherly thing and very patiently trying to get them to behave as we shopped.  After this had gone on for a while, a woman came up to me and touched my arm and said, "Excuse me, but I just have to tell you I have been watching you and I want you to know how impressed I am with what a great mother you are and how patient you are with your little ones."   I am not sure why her words made such an impact on me, but I still remember them to this day and now when I see a young mother struggling with her children, I often go of out of my way to compliment her on what a great job she is doing because I know firsthand how much that meant to me and how hard motherhood is... especially while shopping.  :)
Lunch ~ Do you compliment others often? Not as often as I should. This is something I am consciously trying to make a greater effort to do because I know the impact it can have.  I notice so many good things in others all the time, I just need to go out of my way to express them to them.
Dinner ~ How do you usually react when given a compliment? In the past, I used to say something like, "Oh, I wish!" or "Well, that's not true, but thanks!".  I used to believe that it was prideful and I was not being humble if I accepted a compliment. I have since learned that a compliment is a gift and if I don't accept it then I am rejecting the gift that someone went out of their way to give me.  I now try to fully receive a compliment with a simple, "Thank you, that is very sweet of you to say!" or something along those lines.
Midnight Snack ~ What would be the greatest compliment you could receive and why?  That is hard to narrow down to just one.  But I think if I had to settle on just one, it would be:
"You are so much like your mother!"
Here are a few more that I'd love to receive (along with a few I have) that would mean a great deal to me because they are what I value in life:
"You inspire me!"  "You are an amazing mother."  "I want to be you when I grow up." "You are one of the strongest people I know."  "You make my life so much better for being in it."  "You have changed my life forever."  "You get me."  "Is there anything you can't do?"  "You are a very inspiring speaker - writer - teacher - etc."  "I want your body!"  (That one I did receive this week but not like it sounds.  It was from a woman.  haha And not "that" kind of woman!  This day and age you have to clarify everything!  lol)
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?) Be you!  You are you for a reason.  Don't compare yourself to others but accept your own strengths and gifts and allow others to have strengths that you don't have without feeling envious.  If you admire their strengths, then work to make them your strengths and be inspired by them instead of jealous.

HOW DO YOU DO?
Breakfast ~ How do you do plan family vacations?
Lunch ~ How do you stay on top of things?
Dinner ~  How do you keep calm in stressful situations?
Midnight Snack ~ How do you stay organized?
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?)

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
MY ANSWERS
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
HOW DO YOU DO?
Breakfast ~ How do you do plan family vacations? First I have to get Dave's approval which is usually the hardest part of the plan.  Then I choose dates.  Then I find lodging.  Then I figure out transportation. This should say how "did" I because I am DONE planning them after the fiasco of our Boston trip! Travel planning is the bain of my existence right now as I am still reeling in the fact I lost almost $700 from our Boston trip I planned.  I should have hired a travel agent. It would have been much less stressful ans cheaper!
Lunch ~ How do you stay on top of things? I have a planner that I use daily.  I also have my phone send me alerts for events I need to remember. The brain isn't much help these days. I depend on other means.
Dinner ~  How do you keep calm in stressful situations? I vent.  Not always a good plan, but it is what I usually end up doing.  Either that or go for some chocolate!
Midnight Snack ~ How do you stay organized? I am not feeling very organized right now. Being organized takes time and currently I feel like my time goes to other things that I feel are more important.  That is until life gets crazy and then I know I SHOULD have taken the time to keep things in order.  This week I will be doing that because we have a big gathering coming up.
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?)

Do the things that you MUST get done early in the day because they won't get any easier as the day goes on.

MEMORIES (in honor of Memorial Day)
Breakfast ~ What is your earliest memory?
Lunch ~ What are your three (or ten)☺most memorable moments?
Dinner ~  What is something you wish to never remember?
Midnight Snack ~ What person will you never forget?
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?)

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
MY ANSWERS
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
MEMORIES (in honor of Memorial Day)
Breakfast ~ What is your earliest memory? This one is hard, but I think it's when I was in kindergarten and waiting outside the school for my mom to pick me up. I watched all the buses come and go but my mom was no where to be found. I started to cry and was in great fear I had been forgotten.  It must have traumatized me because I still remember it vividly.
Lunch ~ What are your three (or ten)☺most memorable moments? I might have a hard time choosing only three because I can think of SO many! Some of these are lame because I am in a rush and don't really have time to think this through.  But here is what I came up with on the top of my head:

  • My wedding day
  • The birth of each of my five sons
  • Meeting Pres. Benson and Pres. Monson
  • McKay opening his mission call to Russia.  As well as sending three sons on missions to Indiana, Brazil, and Russia and welcoming them back after two long years!
  • Sky diving on my 50th birthday in Hawaii
  • Totaling our car on the freeway when a truck's contents flew out and several cars had to swerve causing several accidents. I wasn't sure I was going to survive after I was hit and spun and then stopped facing sideways on the freeway and then watched a fast speeding car come right for me.
  • When I was awarded Utah Young Mother of the Year and met with the Governor and having Dave and my little boys Sky and Tyson there with me.
  • Serving with Barbara B. Smith for two years on AMI (everything about my service in AMI is memorable!)
  • Moving to St. Louis for Dave to attend medical school
  • Running the Boston Marathon
Dinner ~  What is something you wish to never remember? Being told we would be living with the dreaded Cystic Fibrosis disease in our family and saying goodbye to Tyson as we closed his casket.
Midnight Snack ~ What person will you never forget? I could answer this with several names, but I think I will say my cousin Shelley.  She passed away with MS about 8 years ago.  She was nine years older than me and I looked up to her and wanted to be just like her in every way.  She's the reason I learned to twirl baton, fire baton, took ballet, tap, drill, all kinds of dance, piano, and became the Majorette at my high school and then a dance teacher and owner of my own dance studio.  She's also the reason I never got hooked on Coke. She didn't drink it and so I didn't.  When I see so many of my friends who depend on the stuff, I am grateful every day for her example.  She was my idol and hero and she is also the reason I am an active member of the church.  I can attribute so many things to her and I am grateful every single day for her example in my life growing up.
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?)

Food 4 Thought Friday ~ This week's questions:

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
*Hey guys, please leave a comment if you played along! THANKS!

It's all CURRENT!
Breakfast ~ What is currently weighing you down?
Lunch ~ What is currently giving you hope?
Dinner ~  What is something you currently did that you wish you could do over?
Midnight Snack ~ What is currently something that heals you either physically or emotionally?
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?)

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
MY ANSWERS
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Breakfast ~ What is currently weighing you down? Everything that I am behind on!  Mainly things in my house.  There is always so much to do and never enough time.  I know I need to purge SO many things, but I am struggling finding the time. I just need to do it an hour a day to simplify.
Lunch ~ What is currently giving you hope? SPRING!  I always feel hopeful about life when I can hear the birds chirping, see the sun shining, the flowers blooming and the air smelling sweet.
Dinner ~  What is something you currently did that you wish you could do over? Where to start?  haha  The presentation I just gave on Organization. I would have tried to just focus on one or two main things because I tried to squeeze in too much and I felt like it was all too vague.  With only 20 minutes, I needed to just choose a couple of things.  By nature, I tend to try to pack in more than I have time for.
Midnight Snack ~ What is currently something that heals you either physically or emotionally? Chocolate!  hehe Seriously, I think talking to other people about things IF they can relate and are not judgmental.  A good run is also very healing to me.
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?)
Go with the flow. Life is very unpredictable, which is actually kind of fun. Imagine how boring it would be if we always could predict all that was going to happen. Especially when it's good things.
