*MONDAY MEMOS*

(If pictures are too small, just click to enlarge)
Weekly recap of my rather crazy, insane, but fun and rewarding life!

dear monday, Sky and Sarah took off for California early this a.m.  Carson woke up right after.  Bryce took him to 7-11 and got him a treat.  He watched him while I got in my run.  I got in some trails today.  Grateful I didn't biff it.
Carson made potions. He loves to do that. Today's was quite elaborate.  Spiders (sprinkles), oranges, chocolate, baking powder, vinegar, powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, etc.
He didn't want to take a nap and fought it but I finally got him to sleep.  I got in some harp practice. He was watching Descendants 2 and he said, "I have sad tears." during a sad part of the movie.  It was so sweet. He said he was missing his mom.  Then later he said, "My sad tears are almost gone."  Such a sweet lil' thing.  McKay showed up just in time for dinner. He drove all the way to get his wallet that he forgot last week.  Carson hung out with Bryce for quite awhile.

dear tuesday, today is the first official day of SPRING as well as the International Day of Happiness!  I created some meme's to post.
 I LOVE this picture! ↓
I got out early on my run. It was chilly, but I got too warm after a mile. I got in seven.  This week is supposed to be my peak training week as far as miles go. We shall see.

Dave was off and he had Carson outside helping with the garden.  It was cute.  Bryce entertained him as well part of the day.  He is a very easy kid to watch. He does like to have someone with him all the time but he's so much fun to be with that it's a blast.  Carson wanted to see Tyson on our old DVD's and home videos and so I got a couple out and holy cow...not sure it was a good idea or not. Lots of emotions watching those things.  Carson got bored after 20 minutes but I couldn't quit watching them.  I over-analyzed them of course. I tried to catch up on deleting photos from my PC because I am nearly out of space.  Dang.

BEST MAIL EVER! Next to missionary letters that is!

dear wednesday,I got up and practiced. I would have gone running because this week is my peak week as far as miles but now with the stress fracture possibility I thought it would be best to cut back and not peak.  Sigh.  I practiced my harp instead. I got Carson going and we headed to meet Sky. They got home at 3 a.m. and he looked completely beat.  Poor Sky - that was a long and fast trip.
He had a fun ride with his carseat going all over the place. We had to stop and fix it.

My lesson went well. I took her a copy of my talk.  Hope it helps.  I ran a bunch of errands. I ran into Dawn and Carla at TJMaxx.  They were fun.  I had to run to the clinic and get an Xray on my foot.  I cleaned out Dave's desk drawer while I waited. His nurses thought I was funny for doing that.  He couldn't see anything on the Xray but says that's normal for a stress fracture and so I need an MRI to make sure.  BUT, our insurance won't approve it for three days so we have to pay out of pocket $650 or wait for them to which puts my last 20 miler on the back burner.  Oh well.  No training goes perfectly and this will be no exception. Might be better anyway because it's going to rain Friday.  I am praying it's not a stress fracture because that is going to really mess Boston up!  But it is what it is and all I can do now is figure out the best plan if it is.  The way my foot has been aching the past two weeks, has me a little nervous that it is. It has been on the ball of my left foot, but the past couple of days I am feeling it on the top as well.  Not a good sign.  But, I have hope it is nothing!
McKay came home because his birthday is tomorrow and I really have nothing to give him yet besides the books he wanted.
Dave and I had to run to the ward fund raiser dinner.  It was fun.  I came home and took the free time to try and catch this up a bit.  I am so behind!

dear thursday, I was only going to run about five miles when I left this morning. But then I decided to go seven.  That seven turned into eight.  After going eight I figured I might as well get in 10.  So I did.
My foot was feeling okay. I would have stopped if it started to hurt.  I was feeling bad I wasn't going to get in my 20 this week and so doing 10 felt good even though Dave will probably not be really happy.  He only told me I shouldn't be doing a 20 miler. He didn't say anything about a 10.  And he didn't say I couldn't run at all.  At least not until we see what the MRI says.

dear happy birthday mckay!
Happy Birthday! I sure do love this boy!
I took McKay to lunch to the Brigham House for his birthday.  He ordered steak.  Haha  I invited my parents kind of last minute but they showed up!  Dave never made it in time. McKay had to leave before we did to get back to class.
HAPPY HAPPY 21st Birthday to my baby!  How can my baby be 21?!!  Where did the time go?! My FB post:
ː̖́.[̲̅̅H̲̅][̲̅̅A̲̅][̲̅̅P̲̅][̲̅̅P̲̅][̲̅̅Y̲̅].ː̗̤̣̀̈̇🎈ːː̗̤̣̀̈̇ː̖́.[̲̅̅B̲̅][̲̅̅I̲̅][̲̅̅R̲̅][̲̅̅T̲̅][̲̅̅H̲̅][̲̅̅D̲̅][̲̅̅A̲̅][̲̅̅Y̲̅ː̗̤̣̀̈̇ː̖́. McKay! My baby is 21 today! That went way too fast! I am so grateful we are celebrating his birthday with him on American soil this year! What a blessing and a joy he has been to our lives! This kid is always happy, grateful, and kind. He is confident, funny, adventurous, and very wise. He has a tender heart but is also very determined and will accomplish great things! We are so happy you completed our family McKay! We LOVE you! HAPPY 21st!!! 🎈🎈🎈☆*☆*☆*☆ С днем рождения!!!☆*☆*☆*☆

It was one crazy busy day.  After taking McKay to lunch, I barely had time to make dinner for Dave's parents.  In fact, I was going to run and grab a pizza cause time was so limited, but I decided to do meatball subs instead since they are fast. I got those made and ran to the store and grabbed some buns, chips, donuts, and a macaroni salad then dropped them off and headed to the temple.  We had a special meeting with all the Stake Presidents and their wives before the session.  It was really nice.  Everyone is so kind.  Dave had to go right back to the clinic to finish up so we didn't get to go to dinner.

dear friday, it was pouring this morning.  I was so grateful my 20 miler was postponed due to my possible stress fracture or we would have been out running in that!  I did run to the post office and kept waiting for it to stop, but it didn't until about noon.  Robin text me to see if I was interested in running with her any miles because she had to do a 10.  I told her I would go five.  I was tempted tot do the whole thing, but I decided to behave and not overdo it too much. I wore my new Saucony Kinvara's.
We got rained on a bit.  I found a mother lode of pennies!  She ran right past them all, but I stopped and started to pick them up and then she ran back and started to grab them as well. I ended up with 26 pennies. Not sure how many she got, but she also grabbed a gold foreign coin too.  I was happy to share though.  It is so fun when you find so many at once. I am sure someone emptied their ashtray because they were sick of carrying them in it.  Kinda fun for us!  Wait!  What am I saying?  It must have been some kind of party in heaven and they used pennies for the confetti!  :)  We ran into (literally) Grant.  When I got home I took a long shower because I was chilled to the bone.  Felt so amazing!
It has been so quiet without Carson here.  I miss that boy.  Bryce headed off to Island Park.  Dave and I went to dinner at Costa Vida.  I ate way too much!  We rented Wonder Woman and watched that in our room.  It was nice to have a quiet night for a change.  Sadly, while we were watching the movie, Dave got a text from the Bishop informing him that Tom Elegante had passed away.  So very very sad.  I feel heart broken for Julie and his kids.  He was a great man.  He will be missed.  It just seems so bizarre because he was so healthy until a week ago and now he is gone.  We were concerned when we visited him in the ICU last week, but it sounded like he was improving each day and so it really was unexpected.  You just never know.  CHERISH EACH MOMENT!

dear saturday, I got up and practiced.  I seem to repeat that phrase often.  I have learned if I don't do it first thing in the morning, it rarely gets done.  I also went running even though I should probably be resting my foot, but my thinking is IF it's NOT a stress fracture, then I am losing a lot of precious training.  Now on the other hand, IF it IS one, then I maybe doing it a bit more damage, but in the overall scheme of things, doing short distances most likely isn't going to make it worse whereas, a 20 miler most likely would. I ended up doing hill repeats. I only got in 12, but I was happy with that.  It felt so labored today!
I met Karen, Mickey, and Dave's parents at Olive Garden in Layton for lunch.  Mom would not come unless Dad did.  Not sure why, but it is what it is and so it was fine.
We took her to Little Mermaid at the Centerpoint Theater. It was really good.  She fell asleep, but we were on the last row in the balcony (only tickets we could snag at such late notice) and it was dark.
I ran to Wasatch Running Center while in Centerville to grab some UCAN.  I get a 20% discount because I qualified to be on the Utah Running Racing Team last year.  Thanks to my 1:45 half marathon time.  So far, it has saved me quite a bit of money.  I got in the Ogden Half Marathon for half price (almost $50) and I get a $50 credit to any running shoes in the store (WRC), as well as great discounts on races, etc.  Not sure I will be able to qualify again, but it's awesome while it lasts!  See....running DOES pay!  Sometimes, anyway!  I had to do a post and answer their questions for a FB post.

Here is mine:
I feel honored to be in this group. I live in Brigham City. I started running almost 11 years ago at the age of 45 mainly because I found it was good therapy after losing my 17 year old son. I have come to love running and all the gifts it brings to my life.
My favorite race distance is the half marathon because it is still challenging but it doesn't beat your body up so much during training and it isn't a full time job to train! hah
My goal is to stay healthy and run my 2nd Boston Marathon this year a bit faster than last year (the heat was brutal last year) and to try and keep qualifying for Boston as long as I am able. I want to be one of those 90 year olds someday that is still running races. 😎

I hit Dick's Bakery while there as well.  Unfortunately, they were out of their famous chocolate cake donuts.  Probably a good thing!  But I did get the mini eclairs!

dear sunday, I woke up as soon as Dave left around 5:45 a.m.  Unfortunately, once again I could not go back to sleep. Aaaaa...  So, I got up and made the birthday cakes.  I made a Boston Creme Pie one for Sky and a Better Than Tom Cruise cake for McKay.  When Dave sent me the recipe while shopping for the ingredients he forgot to include the ganache.  Soooo....I didn't have enough whipped cream.  I had to end up using half and half for the ganache and so it didn't work like it should have. Oh well.  I could have been embarrassed, but it was Sunday and so instead of breaking the Sabbath and running to the store, I had to let my pride take a hit.  It didn't look as pretty as I wanted it to but it tasted great.  I cleaned the main level and then hurried to church.  It was our ward conference.  I was alone in sacrament for the first time in a while.  I missed everyone begin there.  The talks were all amazing.  Bishop Hepworth, President Wight, and President Hollingsworth all gave excellent messages.  Then Dave closed the meeting with his talk.  He did a really good job as well.  It was one of my favorite talks he's given.  He talked about service and how when we serve someone the Savior feels the kindness because when we do it unto the least of these, we do it unto Him.  It was really good. He has always been such a natural at speaking and his words always bring the spirit.  Holli came and dragged me to SS.  She is cute.  We had to draw pictures of our favorite scripture on the atonement.  Here they are:
I couldn't get Julie E. out of my mind today. I am so sad for her and her family.  It is going to seem so odd without Tom here anymore.  Life is so fragile, you just never know.  Another lesson in cherishing the moments.  It was snowing hard when we got out of church.
Mr. Cat wondering where spring is.
We were having Sky's and McKay's birthday party tonight.  None of the boys were home yet when I got home.  Bryce then arrived, then Taylor, then McKay.  Sardine was pretty bad they said.  They ended up closing it because it got so bad.  Sky, Sarah, Carson and Chayden (Sarah's other son) all came.  My parents arrived a little late, but we ate a rib dinner. It was really good.
This is one of my favorite pictures of me and my mom. I wish I knew how to make it a better quality.

Then the rest of the party showed up.  Dave's parents.  Linda and Lynn and Trevor and along with them Kimber and Jason and their girls.  No one knew they were coming!  They came because Tanae had her baby.  Her name is Brinlee.  She is cute.  It was a fun party.
I didn't get a good one of McKay. Darn....
Sarah got this one of Sky.  Her phone's camera is amazing!
Chayden had never seen snow in his entire life. He was loving it.  He stayed out in it for a very long time. Sky and him had a snowball fight. Sky is so good with him too.
The cakes were tasty if I do say so myself.
I need to really start my sugar cutback asap. I try to for a couple weeks before I run a marathon. It is really hard for me, but I know I need to.
Taylor had to postpone his volunteering at the hospital because the canyon was closed.  He ended up heading back once they opened it back up though.  McKay left after him and both said it was still pretty bad. I couldn't talk them into staying the night.

Sarah text me this cute photo of Sky and Carson. I love it so much!

AMEN!
