MY ANSWERS

Breakfast
If you owned a CB radio what would your "handle" be? When I was about 12 or so, my dad had a CB radio and I spent a lot of time on it. My handle was the Lavendar Lion.

Lunch
What are you looking forward to this weekend?
I am so excited to be attending Women's Conferenece at BYU Thursday and Friday with 15 of my friends! It's going to be a party! I will get home late Friday (thank goodness for scheduled posts!) and then I am speaking at a Girl's Day Out conference on Saturday on blogging.

Dinner
If you could snap your fingers and appear somewhere else, where would you be?
I think I would take a little trip to heaven to visit with Tyson. I miss that boy so much.♥

Midnight Snack
What magazine(s) do you subscribe to?
Ensign, New Era, The Friend, (all church magazines), American Mothers, Inc., Runner's World, Taste of Home, Family Fun....I think a couple of those subscriptions have run out and I probably won't renew because it is so hard to get them all read!

Recipe of the Week (instead of your recipe for life what is it just for the week?)“
"The key is to get to know people and trust them to be who they are. Instead, we trust people to be who we want them to be- and when they're not, we cry."

Saturday 9 and Photohunt (Protection!)

1. If you could have just one more conversation with a person from your past, who would it be? Probably my Grandma Mae. She was so much fun and passed away when I was in high school. I would love to have her around to talk to often.

2. Do your friends tend to be male or female?
Most of them are female, but I seem to relate better to certain males than some females.

3. What is in your car’s trunk?
Tire stuff, emergency car kit, first aid kit, blankets, and other miscellaneous junk.

4. What was the last CD that you purchased?
I don't buy a lot of CD's and so I can't remember. It was probably a Christmas one.

5. What is your favorite movie and why?
It's a Wonderful Life because it has such a great message of hope.

6. If you could wake up with a new talent tomorrow, what would it be?
To be able to play the harp.

7. What is your favorite day of the week and why?
It varies depending on what is going on that week. But I love Saturday's because I usually get to spend time with my boys.

8. What are you wearing when you feel you’re at your best?
Nothing special, but I probably feel my best when I am wearing either a nice pant-suit or a skirt and jacket with some snazzy shoes to match. And amazingly enough it doesn't even have to be purple! But I also can feel great in just a pair of jeans and a cute t-shirt. To feel my very best, I need to be wearing make-up and having a good hair day.

9. When was the last time you cried?
I had a serious hay fever attack yesterday and tears were streaming down my face. Does that count? lol

This week's theme was PROTECT(ion)

I confess when I first heard the theme I went blank and decided not to play, but when I got thinking about it, I was able to come up with more than enough ideas to go with it. So here's my take on PROTECT(ion):

Me and my Samoyed dogs. They were very good PROTECTORS!!!

At one point we had ELEVEN of them in our home before we sold the puppies!!! No one was going to mess with us!!!

Cats make for good protectors too! They protect me from MICE!!!

And of course BIG BROTHERS are the BEST protectors of little sisters!!

Lysol and RAID to protect poor helpless teenage girls from ROACHES in a run down motel on a high school trip!

One of my little men to protect me from ANYTHING! Check out the look in his eyes...no one is gonna mess with Taylor!

Lucky for me I was blessed with ♥SIX♥ MEN to protect ME!!!

Even though "I" can fend for myself if needs be!!!

My Answers

Breakfast
When was the last time you did something for the first time? What was it?
On Monday we took the fam to Tempanyaki for Bryce's birthday and I tried a minuscule bite of Salmon! Everyone was totally and completely shocked, including myself! Needless to say I DID NOT LIKE ONE BIT! But hey, I DID try it finally! :) Me and fish just don't gel!

Lunch
What's your middle name? Why?
Mae. My maternal grandmother's name was Evelyn Mae, but she went by Mae. I was named after her. I have always loved it.

Dinner
What was the first car you drove?
It was my brother's 1965 red Mustang. He let me drive it around the church parking lot when I was learning how to drive. He regretted it though because I was grinding the gears pretty bad! Needless to say, he was not a happy camper after that! :) Guess I was not good at a stick shift back then! lol

Midnight Snack
What is the strangest/weirdest gift you have ever received?
We received a ceramic golden calf as a wedding gift from one of my relatives. We both hated it and thought it was the most bizarre gift! In our kitchen we had a spot on our counter that whatever was put there always ended up getting knocked off and broken. That spot strategically became the home of the calf. It didn't take long to seal it's fate...and no more golden calf to worship!

Saturday Memes

1. Have you ever been told that you look like some famous?
I've been told I look like Jessica Rabbit (I know... just kidding to see if you are awake!), Dolly Parton (Bawahaha!!!...kidding again! - Oh I am cracking myself up!), okay serious now...I really have been told I look like Olivia Newton John (now if only I really did!), Patricia Wettig, Princess Diana (when I had a different hair style), and Nicea Degering (Good Things Utah). Any of which I wouldn't complain.
2. Name a celebrity that shares your birthday.
King Constantine I of Greece, Linda Fratianne (American figure skater - same year) , Peter O' Toole, and Carol O' Conner.
3. Tell us about your first kiss.
First kiss was when I was in second grade, but if we are talking first REAL kiss, then it was in high school when I was dating a college guy. We had dated a couple of times and when we were doubling with some friends at one of their houses, we went outside and next thing I knew he laid one on me! When he was done, I grabbed him and laid one right back on him! (JK, about that last part, but you have to admit it sounded good!)
4. When you meet someone attractive, what do you notice first?
Smile and eyes...
5. What was your biggest mistake ever?
Gosh...I have never analyzed that question. Too many to choose!
6. Give us one random, but candid fact about you.
I love my hair played with.
7. What about your current or most recent lover excites you?
That he literally treats me like a Queen. It's wonderful!
8. What really annoys you?
People lying to my face to save theirs.
9. How many other Saturday 9’ers answers do you usually read?

As many as I have time for.

Midnight Snack

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

MY ANSWERS!
Breakfast
When you need alone time do you have a favorite spot you like to go to?
Going outside on my run is really my 'me' and alone time. I love it...but if I can't get out then I love to sit in front of my fireplace in my room. I call that spot my office. It is where I write in my journal and work on my talks and my stuff for my church calling. In fact I am there right now as I write this! If I have time, I have even been known to take a cat nap there while all warm and curled up by the fire....just like a cat! Purrrrr....

Lunch
What is your favorite GUM, STORE BOUGHT COOKIE, and SALTY SNACK ?
My favorite gum is ORBIT SWEET MINT.
My favorite store bought cookie is the store bakery Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies, but I also love Pepperidge Farm Sausalitos, Archway's Iced Molasses, Raspberry Fig Newtons, and of course Girl Scout Samoas and Thin Mints!
My favorite salty snack is Salt & Vinegar chips - (or popcorn)
Dinner
Do you speak any other languages?
Well I took a Japanese class in college if that counts. My boyfriend was on a mission in Japan and I decided that I would surprise him and learn how to speak a little bit of it. I had no idea how difficult Japanese was to learn! Needless to say, I don't remember much of it!

Midnight Snack
Have you ever been on TV?
Yes, several times mostly performing either dance or baton. I was on international TV while in London with a college band that I was majorette for. I was also on several times when I was a volunteer for the Children's Miracle Network Telethon for the Primary Children's Hospital. One year they interviewed me on live TV when I was about NINE months prego!!! I've been on while in the audience of television shows I have attended a few times as well and a couple times with American Mothers Inc. related stuff.
