*MONDAY MEMOS*

(If pictures are too small, just click to enlarge)
Weekly recap of my rather crazy, insane, but fun and rewarding life!

dear monday, today is our 36th Anniversary!  Happy Anniversary to us! Dave gave me some Idle Isle chocolates and gorgeous flowers at lunch.  I ate way too many chocolate covered almonds!  Mmm... my favorite!
I registered for Boston at 8 a.m. this morning and got my email saying I am officially registered.  Sadly, I don't think I will be getting an email saying I am in.  It is going to be a long shot, but I'm not giving up quite yet!
I got out and just walked again today.  It was a beautiful morning.  It was nice to not have to be anywhere today.  I got ready and practiced the harp for a good two hours. I spaced it out over the day, but I need to just get up early and do it each morning so I'm not always cramming.  When Dave got home from work, we headed to Ogden to go to dinner and a movie, even though we already celebrated on Saturday. We had planned on going to Longhorn Steakhouse and then going to see the second  Unbroken movie, but when I was on the website for the movie, they had an offer for Mission Impossible of buy one get one free.  We wanted to see that as well, and so we opted for that.  It was at the Megaplex and they sell food and so we ordered a pizza and sat in the luxury seats.  It was a great movie, but of course, anything with Tom Cruise is.  It was intense, but we both liked it.

Here is my post on Facebook:
36 years down and forever to go! 💜 If you are really lucky, you will find one person who will walk through life with you no matter what happens. I happen to be that lucky. 💜💜ᕼᗩᑭᑭY ᗩᑎᑎIᐯEᖇᔕᗩᖇY TO US! 💜💜
I added the photo of our dinner at Windy's as well.

dear tuesday, the air is chilly each morning.  Like it or not. Fall is here.  I got out on a four mile walk. I have to say, I am loving walking so much that I really don't want to run right now.  I am sure I could have ran today, but now I have started listening to podcasts while I walk and it just doesn't work while running too much. I need my motivating music to do that. haha  Dave was off today. Taylor was home when I got back. It's always nice to have the boys stop in.  While I was in the shower I realized I forgot to do my PT.  Dang!  I made fresh peach bread again today. I think it turned out better this time.  Mmm........so good!  Love it. The recipe is on last week's post. I practiced for quite a while today as well.

dear wednesday, I got up before 4 a.m. and got to my shift at the temple by 5.  Josh was gone and so it was just me and Jean for quite a while until Jodie arrived.  We had our hands full, but were able to keep up pretty well.  The temple president came down and reminded us to keep it down when the door is propped open. That had to be from last week.  LOL  I headed to my lesson. It went pretty well. I then hit Target and TJMaxx and Costco.
I went to my parents and visited with them for quite a while.
This reminds me of my Mom.  She uses "otter" way more than she otter!
When I got home and made a peach jello salad for the ward party and then met Dave there. I chatted with lots of peeps and it was fun.  Dave had meetings so he left before I did.  I hit the hay before he got home.
What?  Not purple?

dear thursday, it was chilly this morning.  I got in 4 miles but mainly walking.  I ran some but it just doesn't feel like it used to and I feel very labored. Sigh...  I had my physical therapy appointment today and he did some measurements and they were better as far as my stretching goes.  I hope it is helping. Not sure how much longer I should keep going to PT.  I ran to the store and sat in my car taking care of some texts I hadn't had time for.  I worked on the dinner for Dave's parents but Dave did most of it when he got home because I had to go to YW Stake volleyball.  Ayako wasn't there until it was almost over and so Sheri and I ran the show.  We had a riot with the girls. We had some hilarious girls and it was one of the funnest nights so far.  I was there for three hours.
I rarely see Bryce as he leaves before 6 a.m. and gets home about 6 p.m., then showers, and once in a while he eats with us, but then he is gone to Hailey's.  I think things are getting serious.

This is "GOOD"!
“The more I run, the more I want to run, and the more I live a life conditioned and influenced and fashioned by my running. And the more I run, the more certain I am that I am heading for my real goal: to become the person I am.” —George Sheehan, M.D., beloved former RW columnist and author of Running & Being

dear friday, I got out on a run out west this morning but mostly a walk.  Seems like I say that a lot lately.  I just wish my body was healing while I am giving it so much rest, but it doesn't seem that way.  The back has been naughty to me the past week.  I had a lunch/meeting for my new "President" job for Homemaker's this morning at the Old Grist Mill.  It was me, Beth, Linda B., and Christine.  We tried to cover all our bases so the transition will be smooth and we won't forget anything that Beth has been doing for 25 years.  It went well.  And the food is always so good there!  I almost got a salad but chose my fave their grilled turkey, Swiss, bacon, avocado  sandwich because it is so good and so I could take half of it home to Dave. I spent the afternoon cleaning.  Mr. Cat's wounded head lost it's scab and so he is finally looking better .  That darn cat!
How is this for truth!? ↓  Hah
Sky, Sarah, and Carson showed up about 4 and she brought her cowboy boots so I could choose one.  I fell in love with the red ones!  How cute are these?  I even changed my outfit so they would match. Hah
We took off for Usana to go see Luke Bryan in concert! I was very excited and have been since they gave me the ticket for my birthday!  Sky drove my car and the traffic was horrific!  I was just glad we made it safely.  We got out tickets and got bumped to the VIP line because we were Verizon customers. Sweet!
Here I am in my (Sarah's) RED cowboy boots!  I love love love them!  I need to get me some purple ones! We tried to get in the Verizon roped off section by walking back to the entrance twice to get lanyards but to no avail, but our place was pretty sweet.  The tickets were in the PIT!  I have never been to a concert with tickets in the pit!  Wow!  It was amazing! We were right by the stage!  Seriously only 6-7 feet away from the runway.  Sarah loves Luke and calls him her husband.  LOL  She has seen him at least 10 times.  The opening was Carly Pearce and Jon Pardi.  They were good, but holy heartthrob, Luke was incredible!  He knows how to put on a good show!

We were so close!

Seriously, it was an amazing concert!  He did not disappoint!
So close to getting a hand touch, but not close enough!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!

The only bad part about it was these two short ladies that were not happy when we scooted closer to the stage an hour before it started.  There was a huge hole and gap and so we just moved over about three feet from where we were.  After the opening numbers when they were setting up the stage for Luke, one of them kept saying stuff like, "We didn't get here two hours before the gate opened so we could be pushed to the back!"  I was sure she meant us.  But they were hugging the back fence when we scooted in and didn't act like it was any big deal. Had they said something, we would have traded them spots.  It's the pit!  People are going to scoot in!  And they did!  Anyway, while they were setting up for Luke, she started to lean into me really hard and I had to keep my feet firm on the ground so she didn't push me right over.  After about 10 minutes of that, I was getting miffed, but didn't say anything.  There was plenty of room for everyone to not have to be touching at this point.  Then she suddenly started to swing her hips pretending to be dancing and pushed me almost over!  I turned and looked at her and she glared at me and yelled, "Stop pushing me!"  Oh. My. Gosh.  I was in shock! I looked back at her and nicely said, "YOU are pushing ME!"  She started off on some rant about getting in line two hours before the gate opened again and how they came with the peeps in front of us (not true- the peeps told us they did not) and just before I burst into tears, Sky jumped right in between us and in a VERY firm voice told her, "I don't care what time you got here!"  I am not sure what else he said, but he told me he muttered to her that she was taking the place for two people (which was true) but she didn't hear him!  But after that, she didn't say another peep.  Geeze.  I am not sure if she was drunk or what, but she was not nice. Then on our way out we saw a man push a lady right over to the ground.  She kind of bounced around and then burst out crying.  Sky helped her up and she went on about how that guy wouldn't believe she lost her cell phone.  I felt sorry for her.  She hit hard!  They WERE drunk and mean.  People are scary when they are drunk. We ended up waiting for almost 45 minutes just to get out of the parking lot and then went to a McDonald's in Layton and waited there for 40 minutes. We got home about 1:30 a.m  But it was a blast and I loved it so much!

dear saturdayI got up and headed out on a 6 miler.  I went to the track for part of it. I found some fun stuff left over from Homecoming. haha  Not just a purple soft towel, but candy too.  Carson was impressed with my finds.
I also found a dead bird.  Why would I take a photo of a just a dead bird?  Well, because whenever I see one it always reminds me of the scriptures about sparrows and that not a sparrow shall fall without the Father noticing.  Sometimes, we need to be reminded we are of great value and I love how I find things in nature all the time that does that is such a profound way.
Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Luke 12:7 - But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Taylor watched Carson while we were at the concert until Dave got home and they made this cool fort!  Carson and Bryce were playing with it when I got home.
Sky had to work in Ogden and so Sarah and Carson stayed here.  We decided to invite Grammy to come up and go to a movie with us.  The only kid friendly one was Christopher Robin and so we all went.  It was okay.  Not my fave, but still a good message.  We were going to go see McKay at Maddox for pie but it was packed and we didn't want to take his tables if we were ordering just dessert.
Grammy came over after and we had fun.  Carson turned her into a unicorn.
After she left, Sarah and Carson and I went to Walmart.  This is one of my all time favorite pictures of him. Hehe
We then found this!!!  Eeek!

This photo is hard to see, but it's a deer, Mr. Cat and Scratchers all chillin' together.

dear sunday, Carson found my new witch attire.  He is a cute one.

Carson and Peaches (the elephant) leading the music in singing time
Cheryl taught today. Sam was sick, but we still had six.  I sure love my Sunbeams!
Since Carson missed my lesson and the story about the Banana and Orange, I had to reenact it for him.  I'm not sure what he thought.  But, I had fun doing it again!  hehe

We went to Grammy's for a hamburger cookout.  It was just Dave and I and Carson and Sky and Sarah met us there because they left early this morning to work.  Tiff and fam and Trevor and fam were also there.  It was a lot of fun.  We always have fun when my fam gets together.
This was at home when we got back.  Troy dropped it off to thank Dave for taking care of his fish while they were in Europe.  Yum!

dear quotes, lots of running quotes this week because I NEED the motivation!
