I have soooooo many, but I guess my MOST favorite would be when Dave and I dressed up like a cop and a donut. I made the donut from a snowtube that I spray painted brown and the sprinkles were colored popsicle sticks. I also wore a Krispy Kreme sweatshirt and hat. I made Dave's officer patch on his sleeve so the shirt looked official.

My favorite costume I made for the boys, had to be McKay's Grinch costume. He was obsessed with the Grinch and wore it for a couple of years! The mummy costume I made had also got a lot of wear through the years!
McKay and his cousin Paigely rather...The Grinch and the Little Mermaid

I also LOVED the Frankenstein costume! This is Taylor. It was the top prize winner at the party he wore it to.

This is Bryce as Frankenstein. He also won a costume contest for it.

I am the Queen of Halloween (or so my family calls me)! I LOVE HALLOWEEN! It is my favorite holiday. I love everything about it. I love to decorate the house inside and out and we have a lot of fun traditions we do each year. A few (I will spare you all of them!) of them are:

  • I have a large cauldron full of Halloween books that we read by flashlight at night.

  • We have a Halloween Dinner for Family Home Evening the Monday before which consists of a real scary menu. (I am going to do a post on this later- I hope!) We eat by candlelight and listen to scary Halloween music. We eat on all my Halloween dishes and utensils. So fun!

  • Trick or treating (of course!)

  • We love to go to our friends house where they do a real scary outdoor haunted area each year.

  • We have a dinner on Halloween night consisting of Cream of Potato or Taco soup in pumpkin bread bowls, along with whatever gory thing I decide to make that year...i.e. eyeball ice-cubes, bloody fingernail cookie fingers, eyeballs, graveyard cake, etc. My brother and his family and my parents usually come. Dry ice is always part of the menu brewing inside the red punch (blood) as well.

  • I love thinking of and making fun costumes...and if we don't get invited to a costume party, I am really bummed!

  • I like to make a Haunted Halloween gingerbread house when I have the time. Here's one I made a few years ago↓

Dinner
Do you believe in Ghosts???
I believe in the Holy Ghost! I totally believe that there are spirits (or angels) near us all the time.

Midnight Snack
What is your greatest Halloween memory?
Me and my friends would go trick 0r treating with our pillowcases and stay out until they were nearly full! Then instead of eating my gold mine, I would hide it under my bed until it got so old that I usually ended up throwing it all away. Real bright I know!

Don't sweat the small stuff. It always works out in the end!

5. Many people are going to have fun tonight trick or treating! Happy Halloween!

6. Meat, canned goods, hot cocoa, lettuce, detergent, cheese, frozen foods, a basketball, a hoody for McKay, (I was at Costco) was the last thing I bought at the store.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Halloween of course!!! tomorrow my plans include speaking at the Women's Forum on blogging, maybe squeezing in the 5K Run for Amber before (if I am prepared enough for my class!), preparing my combined lesson for Young Women tomorrow and Sunday, I want to hopefully do a good job on my lesson!

Out of the closet...

My name is Jodi and I...

Am a CHOCOHOLIC!

Shocker, I know. You will be happy to know that I am also a proud member of

♥Chocoholics Un-Anonymous♥

And today I would like to un-ashamedly promote my club membership by endorsing

THESE

M&M Triple Chocolate Premiums!

These little babies are not only PURPLE, but they are a sinfully tasty experience you won't soon forget!♥
They are a combination of milk, dark, & white chocolate! (my second favorite Triple Combination!) Mmm..... I have to admit I am not a big fan of white chocolate, but it seems to know what it's doing in these little numbers. As they say, these are GLAMOUROUSLY GREAT!

They come in four other flavors. I haven't tried any of the others yet. I saw no reason to improve on perfection.

You've gotta watch this...it's only 30 seconds.

Sorry, but I had to add this one too...

hee-hee

For THIS chocolate was created...
Ahh... Chocolate take me away!

Women's Forum

My friend Beth, who serves on the Women's Forum committee, asked me if I would post about it on my blog. I told her I would be more than happy to do that not only because I would do anything for that amazing lady, but because it is such a great conference that offers something for women of all ages. I was on the planning committee for many years and so I know how hard these women work to make this a very special and worthwhile day. This year promises to be just as great, if not better, as in years past.

Look over the classes and I am sure you will find something that you really need or want to become more knowledgeable on. There is a huge variety of classes and topics. The only drawback is trying to decide between all the great ones!

Grab your sister, mom, and all your friends and enjoy a great day out with great company, speakers, and food! The food is always extremely top notch. Just the luncheon alone is more than worth the registration cost. It really is delicious!

Be sure and find me and say hi! If not, I will be crushed! I am so excited because one of my dearest friends Cindy is also speaking. Her topic is Finding the Joy in Motherhood. Be sure and attend her class. You will leave feeling so uplifted and renewed!

Hope to see ya there! It is THIS Saturday!!!!

You will have to click on these to be able to read them!!! (Unless you have extremely good eyesight or are MUCH younger than me!)

A little of THIS and a lot of THAT...

This post is going to be one of those random posts consisting of all the things I PLANNED on blogging about but never got around to!

~Spooktacular 5 K~

I ran in the Mantua Spooktacular 5K race with Julie.

I won 1st Place in my age division! Yes, I was shocked.
To read the full post go here.

~Dinner at Troy and Carols~Our good friend's Troy & Carol invited us to their house for a yummy dinner of homemade pizza and to play games...(compliments to Chef Carol!) Audrey & Kim and Mike & Carrie also came.

The food was excellent and the company superb!

We seemed to be laughing at something (usually Troy!) all night long!

We had a great time playing games and of course eating dessert! This is a shot Audrey took of the Earthquake Cake I made...(it's so nice to share photos!) Just one bite (if I do say so myself) makes you "feel the earth move under your feet..." It's the most gooey, rich, chocolaty, sinful, earth shaking, slice of heaven on earth cake around! And of course with absolutely NO calories! Oh wait...it just hit me...maybe that's WHY it's called Earthquake Cake! Because you can't quit eating it and so eventually the earth will move under your feet...literally!

This is Troy, Mike, and Carrie. They have all been friends since high school.

I learned you should NOT tell anyone you are going to take a picture. Just do it! Otherwise "some" people try and hide or make interesting hand signals...that mean WHO KNOWS WHAT!

We really had fun and I got laughing so hard at one point that I had tears streaming down my face. The game Linkity was not linking with my brain at first and I lost it when I realized I said "Leroy" to link with Uncle...NO idea where THAT came from! I still laugh when I think about it! Yeah, you had to be there. Go here to read Audrey's version of our fun night.

Thanks Troy and Carol for a really fun night. Let's not wait so long until we do it again!

~Party at Kevin and Loraine's~

Our friends live next to the mountain and have leveled off a cool spot above their house with a bonfire pit. We enjoyed HOT SCONES dripping with butter and honey (thanks to Kim aka the Scone Master!), yummy hot cocoa and great ward buds! It was a hike to get up to the spot, but once there, it was beautiful looking out across the entire city below.
This is the scone master (I borrowed these photos from Audrey's blog) Yes, he hauled his cook stove up there as well! And he just can't resist teasing me about snakes crawling up my leg until I slap him really hard!
Zach, McKay, and Carson had fun exploring the mountain in the dark. The black rope is what we hung onto to rapple get up the mountain.

Janzen (trying to get phone service- "Can you hear me now?"), Dave, and the snake scone master.

Me, Jen (actually getting phone service), Audrey, and Loraine

Audrey looking real hot next to the roaring fire!

~Adventures in paint balling~Taylor is the man

Pretty sure they wouldn't let them on a plane.

~Me and Bonnie out to lunch with Mona~

We visit teach her and she is the most delightful and hilarious lady. She just cracks me up! We both just love her!~

~ Like I said, this is a RANDOM post!~

~Taylor the stud~

~Celebrating Heidi's 40th!~
No, NO!....40 is NOT over the hill!

~Sky with a new look~
He wouldn't let me take his picture (nothing new - he NEVER will!)~

Gotcha! Yep, he went brown! I actually like it...I think.

They got 15 that day!

~Bryce smiling~
His jaw is finally healed! (just in time for hockey!) Aaargh!

~My Mom gave me this cute wall hanging!~

That's all the random- ness for today!
