~ Never a Better Hero ~
by Kenneth Cope
This song touched me deeply the first time I heard it. It is an amazing song with a powerful message. There never was a better hero than the Savior. His life AND death was for us.
When my son Tyson passed away, I knew immediately that one of the songs that must be sung at his funeral was this one. Not only because Tyson's hero was the Savior, but because Tyson was so much like Him. He was the most Christlike person I have ever had the privilege of knowing. I have never been able to understand how someone who suffered so much of his own pain, was always able to think of others before himself. Tyson was always the first to ask if anyone needed anything or if they were doing okay. But it wasn't just when he was feeling his best. He asked and genuinely wanted to know even when he was feeling his very worst and at his sickest. How I miss that boy! He was that way because he emulated the Savior in so many ways. He understood so much about that pure Christlike unconditional love that most people don't even have a concept of. He possessed it. And not only did he possess it, but he showed it and gave it freely. He was a hero too. I only hope someday I can be like him. This is in his memory.
♥ I love you bud.♥

Very touching. You always do such amazing posts. Where do you find the time?
Thanks so much Nancy. That is sweet. I will often do a post when I have the time and then just save it in my drafts with a scheduled post date. THen it automatically posts when I tell it to. It's really convienent that way!
This is one of my favorite songs as well. It often seems that the ones who are so like Christ are the ones who are with us the least when we could use their inspiration and love the most. I can only imagine the spirits he is positively influencing.
I've always loved that song but I haven't heard it for awhile. thanks for sharing!
I LOVE that song too! Thank you for reminding me of it...
