Food 4 Thought Friday ~ This week's questions:
Lunch ~ What is your favorite treat of the holidays?
Dinner ~ What is your favorite tradition of Christmas?
Midnight Snack ~ What is your favorite Christmas song?
Recipe of the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life what is it just for the week?)
Lunch ~ What is your favorite treat of the holidays? Probably Christmas Crack! (Recipe below) And it's not even chocolate! (But I add M&M's to it!) However Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without the orange rolls and Golden Buck that we have Christmas morning! Not chocolate either! Crazy! Other faves are homemade caramels, chocolate fudge and almond poppy seed bread!
Dinner ~ What is your favorite tradition of Christmas? Oh my, that is a hard one! I have SO many that I LOVE! How about top three? I love the tradition of our birthday party for Jesus on Christmas Eve. I love the tradition of our wrapped Christmas books where we open one each night in December, but now that one has ended (at least until I get grands!). I love our Elf tradition. I started that WAY before Elf on the Shelf evolved. Our elf is named Elfis and he hid each day to watch the boys to see if they were behaving and then went back and reported to Santa on Christmas Eve. When I think of the the money I could have made if I had marketed that idea before someone else did!
Midnight Snack ~ What is your favorite Christmas song? Least favorite? O Holy Night. I love it no matter who sings it. I especially like Josh Groban's version though.
My
least favorite has to be Christmas Shoes. I can NOT listen to that
song. It is much too hard for me and makes me cry! I really don't like
it!
Recipe of the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life what is it just for the week?) Take care of first things first and everything else will fall into place.

MY ANSWERS
HOLIDAY FAVES
Breakfast ~ What is your favorite part of the holidays? Least Favorite? The gathering of my family altogether. I also love the music and the lights. I love that the world stops to reflect on the Savior's birth and the spirit that brings to the entire world. I really love everything about it except the stress of trying to get everything done in record time and the craziness of trying to find the perfect gift for everyone...which is my least favorite part.Lunch ~ What is your favorite treat of the holidays? Jodi's Christmas Crack
2 cups sugar
2 cups light corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
Melt butter. Add syrup and sugar. Boil 2 minutes and pour over the following:
1 box Golden Graham cereal
1 box Rice Chex cereal
14 oz shredded coconut
2 pkgs. slivered almonds (toasted)
When cooled a bit, add 1 large bag of M&M's. This makes a lot, but once you start eating it you'll be glad it does!

I know I would love the Christmas Crack too! I love those kind of treats. I think your Birthday for Jesus sounds like a fun tradition. I wish I would have heard about that years ago. And too bad you didn't market that Elf idea...you could have traveled the world. :)
oops....I played along and my post is at http://dawnthemom.blogspot.com/2015/12/food-for-thought-friday_11.html
