*MONDAY MEMOS*

(If pictures are too small, just click to enlarge)
Weekly recap of my rather crazy, insane, but fun and rewarding life!

dear monday, today I headed out on a walk. Check out the new hs tennis courts!!!  So pretty!!!! Almost makes me want to take up tennis!
I then headed to PT.  Rob had me run quite a bit today and he took videos of me while running to evaluate. I was surprised that my form is basically spot on. My right hip is a bit off but other than that my cadence and position and how much my head goes up and down is all right on target.  That is good news. The bad news is it still is painful to run.  But I am sure that is just a matter of time.  The specialist told me that it is going to be a full year before I can even think about getting back.  It has been nine months!  If you had told me the day this happened that I would still not be running nine months later, I would have never believed it.  And to think I still have so far to go. Carson wanted to make potions. I let him. I figured he won't keep asking for much longer to do this and one day he won't want to. Sad.
We also made cookies. Sky and Sarah were working at the apartment.  When Dave got home we delivered them to a new family in the ward but they didn't answer the door even though we could hear them.
My neighbor Julie and I give each other the clothes we no longer wear.  She gave me this top and when I saw it I thought I would not like it, but when I tried it on I loved it!  So much so that I wore it twice this week!  The only bad thing about it is sometimes when she has on the things I gave her, they look so cute on her I want them back!  LOL  She knows how to put an outfit together really well.

dear tuesday, today I went on a walk in the morning and it felt so good. This is what I witnessed on my way out.  Can't get enough of seeing these gorgeous creatures!
I met Ayako and Val for lunch and everyone had to run off pretty quick today.  I ran to Walmart and did a couple other errands. I am writing so far after that I can't remember what I did the rest of the day.  Sigh.... My life has been pretty boring lately. Haha

I had Jewel make these for me.  She does a great job!

dear wednesday, today on my way to my harp lesson I saw this truck!  The photo was taken too late because when I was further back it looked like it was coming right for me!!! Just a bit unnerving!
I had an early harp lesson.  It went well. She is going to help me with the music for The Miracle for the Primary program. I hope I can do it.  The City Creek Crew was supposed to meet today for lunch but Lisa forgot and so Dawn and Kathy and I just went to lunch at Mod Pizza.  It was fun.
I had some time to kill before and so I hit Target and Hobby Lobby.  I was going to go see my mom but I had to get back to pick up Carson for early out.  Dave ended up calling and saying he was going to and so I ran to Costco to cash my check and ended up spending a lot of money but forgetting to cash it.  Hah.
One of my favorite professors at Weber State (Mrs. Tribe) passed away. She was a tough one but I learned so much from her.

dear thursday, today I got out on a walk and did my PT while out there as I do each day. I have to do my ankle stretch on a slant board (I use the bleachers stair) and then my kneeling and squats (I use a soft pad behind the track).  I feel like I am making progress on my squats and kneels but it is still so scary and painful to just let it go. I'm just going to be patient and hope it will one day just go back to normal. But, ouch!  I picked Carson up from school since Sarah was working in SLC all week.  We came home and hung out and did some homework. I went and visited Janet and took her a wall hanging quote thing I had made for her. We chatted for a while. She is still struggling. Things are not going the way she had hoped. It's tough. I try to encourage her and today I talked to her today about visualizing her future as she wants it and being healed and then feeling it inside as well. I really believe there is great power in that. It's so hard to do when you don't feel hope though, but I know our  minds have so much power and can make such a huge difference in our lives if we will only trust and be willing to do it.  I headed to the church to set up for volleyball. Dani had it mostly done before I got there. We had a hard time getting the scoreboard to work.
I made corn chowder and cornbread for Dave's parents and then took it over to them. They were very grateful.  I then rushed to Carson's flag football game. He did really well.  I told him if he got someone's flags that I would take him to the Dollar Store to pick out a craft.  That motivated him and he almost did.  He did run the ball though.
Carson running the ball.  He always goes the opposite way first so he can get ahead of the opposing team. It's hilarious!

We then rushed back to the church for Stake YW Vball.  It was fun. Angie B came from the stake and we had a good time.  I took Carson with me. He had fun drawing and playing.

dear friday, today was break the rules day for Carson. He went with crazy hair. He is so cute. He was so excited to get to chew gum and run in the halls today. LOL
I went on a walk and it was raining. I loved it. It stopped before I was done though.  I came home and found a gorgeous basket of peaches. They were huge. They were from a Bishop in our stake.
I worked on my harp and ran some errands and got a lot done on the calendars. I can't believe how much time they take especially when you are trying to do two years at once! I'm already feeling burned out!  Yikes!
Sky and Sarah took us to dinner tonight at Ruth Chris' in SLC.  I had to take this photo because he was wearing my sunglasses on our way to get Dave.  THIS would not have happened in the past. Sarah has had a great influence on him!  LOL

We dropped Carson off at my parents. Actually, they met us at Hoagies so we wouldn't be late.  I had never been there. Sky was the only one that had. It was nice but very pricey!  He won a gift card there for being the top seller in is company and was so nice to take us with.
Holy cow the steak melts in your mouth! For $60 bucks it should!  The Caesar salad was so yummy!
My favorite was the sweet potato casserole. Oh my!  Dessert was pretty amazing too. We got a free one since it was our anniversary.
Just so good! It's fun to see how the other half lives.  I was stunned how packed it was. There must be a lot of rich people in this state. Or people that just go there once  to check it out like us.  Our bill with the tip was close to $400!  Yeah. Fall is in the air. It was chilly today!
Oh my gosh!  Dessert was heavenly!

dear saturday, today it was POURING rain pretty much all day. I headed out early for my walk and Dave wanted to join me.  Not sure why since it was raining cats and dogs, but he came along.
We went to the high school and hit the pkg lot first for coins.  Holy!  We hit the jackpot today! Four eyes are better than two that's for sure!  We got $2.32! Might be a record for a day as far as coins go.  I have found a $20 once and several $5 bills.
The football team came out to clean the bleachers while we there since it was Homecoming last night.  Coach asked Dave if had lost something.  LOL  Mainly because we were looking for coins.  hehe  Then Mike the trainer asked the same thing. Dave said I was doing my PT.  The trainer said he had something for me.  He made me an elastic theraband.  I didn't have the heart to tell him I already had some. We went in the training room and he was really nice. He asked about Taylor and talked about him and CJ and how they have a lot of fun.  He also said they are free spirits. LOL  He said he has worked there for 16 years and the year they were seniors was his favorite year because that team worked so well together.  They really were all great kids.
We walked a bit more and then it started to come down HARD!  It also thundered and there was tons of lightning.   Dave made us go stand by the high school because the lightning was really close and we were out in the open.  We had to wait for a good 20 minutes before it settled down. It was crazy!  But fun! I love stormy weather!
Waiting for the lightning to stop!
I actually ran three different times for three minutes each.  It felt so good but it was also very painful. It just felt so good to run again.  Maybe someday. I do question if I will ever be back to where I was, but I have to focus on how far I have come.  I don't know too many runners that don't deal with some type of injury. The only difference is theirs are usually brought on by running.  Not a psycho snowmobile.  But it is what it is.  I am choosing to focus on all I CAN still do instead of all I can't.  It makes it much easier.  Gratitude is a powerful arsenal in our weapon pack.

First pix of me back running!  Well, kinda!  A minute at a time isn't much but it IS progress!!!  Love that it is in the rain!
We came home even though I only got in 3 miles. My goal was 7 today but it was just getting so crazy out there and I felt bad for Dave because he was cold and without a hat or rain jacket.  I was soaked even with a rain jacket.
I took a long hot shower. Felt so nice!  I worked on the calendars today for quite a bit of time even though I am three weeks behind on this.  Sigh....
It rained all day long. I made a quick trip to Seagull and then we took Taylor's old car to Bryce because his truck was stolen right from his house last night. His wallet was in it too.  Ugh.  They used his credit card at Walmart in town and then again in Idaho Falls. It was eventually found abandoned in Lava Hot Springs. Dave and him went to get it.  The keys were not in it but Bryce was able to start it.  Crazy.  I got my Halloween totes out but was too tired to put it up.  I need to start that at the crack of insanity in the a.m. so it goes fast.  Maybe Monday.  Next week is a busy one though.

dear sunday, today was chilly.  Carson was styling!  He drew that picture for me. It's me and him coming out of the temple with a cake.  LOL
We headed for church and it was fast and testimony meeting. It was a good one.  Since it was the 5th Sunday, they had training for the new youth programs but I still had to teach. Julie did a little sharing time first and then I had just one Sunbeam.  Rosalie. She is adorable and it was a fun lesson. We came home and I wasn't feeling well and so laid down for a bit. Dave made us hamburger soup and Ruth's Chris' sweet potato casserole. So good!  I was freezing all day.  Later in the day I made a fresh peach pie.  It will be the last one for the season but it was so good.

We took some over to Bryce and crew and this is Liam's reaction. I think he approves! LOL
McKay was here and it was nice to have him home. Carson loves it when he is here as well. Poldark started tonight. I LOVE that show!! Sadly this is the last season!
This ↓ is the scene at my house quite frequently. This kid LOVES to do art!  He would do it 24-7 if he was allowed!
Sky had this wonderful surprise set up for Sarah.  It was a surprise letting her know he is taking her to Europe!  They are heading to Switzerland and Germany to see the castle that inspired Walt Disney!  Underneath the post its are photos of where they are going.  He is so romantic!

dear random,

Crazy to think two of my boys were this far from home for two years!!!

 Hehe!
We are going to this on Oct 30!
