"WORK"ING IT OUT
Breakfast ~ List the paid jobs you have had in your life so far. (These are the ones I can think of right now though I'm sure there's more)
  • Babysitter
  • Dance Instructor assistant (Shelley's School of Baton and Dance and Lynda Baird's School of Dance where I taught my own baton students)
  • Burger King
  • Cleaned offices for Kier Corporation with my friend Carol Cogdill.  I think I got paid?  Either that or I just helped her so she could get done faster and we could go play.☺
  • McKay Dee Personal - (filer/answered phone/office work) - this was not technically a paid job but for school credit for my C.O.E. class (Cooperative Office Education)
  •  Grocery store cashier at The Grocery Store in North Ogden
  • Waitress at the Fudge Kitchen
  • Office worker at Dixie College
  • Cleaned dorms at Dixie College
  • Worked in the cafeteria at Dixie College as well as with the catering service
  • Preschool Instructor
  • Weber State University tutor in math and English
  • Mary Kay consultant
  • Business owner of my own dance studio - Jodi's Rainbow Academy of Dance
  • Cleaned apartments (for Dave's dad's rentals)
  • Cleaned homes in St. Louis during medical school as well as did day care in my home.
  • Blogger (I have made a bit of money doing this - not much, but some) I also guess winning the Sego Lily Blogger contest was payment in a way - a year of free spa treatments!  The best!
  • I also had my own business selling my homemade crafts for several years called Kalico Kreations.
  • Mother - even though this is not a monetary paid job, I do receive a paycheck in other ways!
Lunch ~ What job was your favoriteI actually loved being a waitress at the Fudge Kitchen and Burger King was a riot because about 10 of my friends worked there also. But I also loved being a grocery store clerk, a dance teacher and a preschool teacher.  Heck, I loved almost all of them! If I include Mother in the mix, then that has been hands down my favorite!  What was your least favorite? That would have to be cleaning the dorms at Dixie College!  UGH!  We cleaned the boys (football teams) dorms and they were disgusting!  And the ones we cleaned of the girls had roaches everywhere!  I HATED that job!
Dinner ~ What is your dream job? Probably any job that you can make money at but it doesn't feel like you are working. I think being a rockstar would be the ultimate job if you could stay grounded and be home a lot! hehe I also think working at Google would be the best job ever!  They have so many perks!  I'm just not willing to move to work there. I would also love to be a free lance writer and make lots of money!
Midnight Snack ~ What kind of work do you love to do and what kind of work do you absolutely hate? I love to do things that require working with people.  I also love jobs where you plan or organize things.  I dislike jobs that are solitary (so why did I say I would love to be a free lance writer then?) or jobs that require manual labor especially cleaning other people's messes.
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?)
Focusing less on yourself in relationships is the key to a successful one.  Focus on what you are going to give instead of what you are going to get.  So unnatural, but such a life changing concept!  Tony Robbins puts it so well...

This post made me think. I had just talked with a woman who could not hire someone because she had lied about the gaps in her working history. I'm surprised that you could remember all those jobs.
Love the Tony Robbins video. So true. We need to continue to work on our marriage.

You were a Mary Kay consultant? I didn't know that! We had roaches at our apartment at Dixie too! It was awful. I can't imagine cleaning there. Urrgh! I think you should become a freelance writer, you would be marvelous at it. Motherhood suits you perfectly, it's not hard to tell that your really love it.
