MY ANSWERS

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Breakfast ~ What was a happy moment this week? The moment I finished my last step of my 13 mile run!  And the fact that my Aunt Dixie is here visiting!
Lunch ~ What was a sad moment this week? When I learned that a very strong member of our church was persuaded by extreme literature to leave it and no longer has a testimonyIt seems Satan has unleashed all his forces to move stronger, quicker, and more powerfully in order to confuse and persuade the stalwart to his way of thinking.
Dinner ~ What happened that surprised you this week? Several things actually.
  • I got a text message from my friend Kathryn (her husband is Dave's 2nd counselor in the Stake Pres so I haven't know her too long) saying that her sister was visiting her and she told me who her sister was (Annelle  - who I worked with in American Mother's for years!) and asked if they could drop by and visit.  I was really in shock that she was her sister!  I was so excited to see her!  They ran over and we had a good visit for about an hour.  I am still in shock that they are sisters!  What a small world.  I would have NEVER put those two together.  It was an unexpected happy surprise!
  • I won overall woman (in the Senior division) in a 5K I ran this week and got $50!  And that was after a 13 mile downhill long run the day before. Came within 9 seconds of getting a new PR. Totally did NOT expect that!
  • I still haven't lost a single pound even though I have been eating MUCH less and drinking tons of water and still exercising like crazy!  AND, even with all that, I have actually gained!  That is not normal for me. Very discouraging!  I think it's this dang thing called menopause but Dave is going to get my blood checked next week to make sure nothing else is going on.
  • I got my Jesus the Christ reading done way before the deadline....and then the study group got cancelled!
  • I made a TWO pans of my Mississippi Mud Brownies this week and I hardly ate any of them!  That's not really surprising. It's miraculous!
Midnight Snack ~ What happened that didn't surprise you this week? Nothing much actually.  Only things I can even think of are:
  • My aligners still aren't done!
  • I was sore after my 13 mile down the canyon run.
  • I've been put in charge of several big family things.
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?)
Ask and ye shall receive...believe...receive. In my studies of Jesus the Christ this week in Chapter 30, as I was studying about the parable of the Fig Tree, I learned something about prayer that I had not been aware of before. It is talking about the great possibilities of achievement through faith and prayer.  "But to so achieve, one must work and pray without reservation or doubt.  "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."  Prayer must be acceptable to God to be effective; and it follows that he who desires to accomplish any work through prayer and faith must be fit to present himself before the Lord in supplication; therefore Jesus instructed the apostles saying: "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.  But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.""  So basically, if we want our prayers to be acceptable to God (and we all do!) then we must ALWAYS pray with a forgiving heart!

hey friend. Your lunch is a sad thing. It seems that is happening more and more and will continue to. I hope that I never get so far away from the Spirit that it will happen to me. I guess I should have worried about gaining weight when I was small. I don't pay attention and then go to put something on and am surprised at my bodies changes. Menopause does do some rearranging.
I love your recipe for the week. We just had our Stake Conference and it was about praying for miracles. Which is similar to your thought....when we pray we have to expect results. Forgiving is essential in purifying our hearts.
