MY ANSWERS
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Breakfast ~ What are three staples you always have in your fridge? Yogurt (Greek now), eggs, milk. Pantry? Cereal, brownie mix, pasta.
Lunch ~ What is one dinner you remember most from you childhood and why? Creamed tuna on toast.  BLEH!  I hated it with a passion!  But my mom always made it for dinner.  When I got older, I loved this frozen thing you could buy called chipped beef gravy and I would eat that over toast. Strange I know since I hated the other.
Dinner ~ What is one thing you like to know about someone else? I am not sure I can choose one thing....but I love to know how they live their everyday life...how they run their home.  I like to know traditions they have, how they spend their time, what their priorities are etc.
Midnight Snack ~ What was the best and worst thing of your week? Best thing was I got a lot done.  Worst thing was I am still burning the candle at both ends to get everything done I need to!  It has been a busy week!
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?)
“One lives in the naïve notion that later there will be more room than in the entire past.”
–Elias Canetti
I seem to always say to myself, "I'll get around to this when I have more time in the...summer/fall/winter/spring...etc.  Or "Things will slow down soon and then I can get to this." Or "Next year will be much better."  But NOW is the time to do things. There won't be more time in the future than there is right now.  So just do it NOW.

You always have brownie mix in your pantry? I love it! I now who to call if I need a treat! We ate creamed tuna on toast - called it Tuna A La King. YUCK!
I love your recipe for the week. I feel the exact same way.

I've been lost to the blog world, but did see you comment about wedding cake question. I use Betty Crocker cake mixes. I did a post 1/26/16 (Dear Jodi) that answers some of your questions. Find it here https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=8609314706472588398#editor/target=post;postID=1726632879581059039;onPublishedMenu=template;onClosedMenu=template;postNum=1;src=postname
I hope that works and that it's not too late.

The name of the post is "Dear Jodi". Published on 1/26/16.
Some info from that post:
The 'naked' look on the wedding cake is so easy. It is like a thick crumb coat. So I crumb coated each layer with thinned icing. Then I frosted each layer again with regular frosting.

I really prefer to use HEAVY cakes when I make wedding cakes. My favorite is this banana cake recipe. It is one that I adapted a bit for my very first wedding cake in 1981. My brother brought the original recipe home from his mission to New Zealand.

MY Aunt Shirl's New Zealand Banana Cake

1/4 pound butter, melted

Add:

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 egg

3 mashed bananas

Mix well after each addition.

2 cups flour

1 tsp baking soda dissolved in 3 TB milk.

Mix thoroughly.

Pour into 8 inch square or round greased and floured pan. If recipe is doubles use a 10 inch pan.

Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.

Another recipe I like to use for wedding cakes...

Buttermilk Chocolate Cake

2 cups sugar

1 c shortening

4 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

2 cups flour

4 TB. Cocoa

2/3 c buttermilk

1 cup boiling water

Cream together the sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla. Add flour, cocoa, buttermilk and boiling water. Pour into a 9 X 13 pan and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

Each of these recipes must be adapted depending on the size of each layer. Since I usually am flying by the seat of my pants, I make the batter and bake the smallest layer first. This helps me to know how much batter I will need for the larger layers.
