MY ANSWERS

Breakfast ~ Have you ever won a trophy?  What for?
I won several baton/drill trophies when I was growing up. I never won the big one that I always wanted though.  I have also won several running trophies.  I tried and tired to win 1st place at the Snowman Shuffle because the trophies were the cutest things ever!  Cute little snowmen.  It took me a few years, but I finally won one.  I have won several more since.  I also won a trophy at the Top of Utah half marathon last year that I had been wanting to win for about 7 years.  It's also unique and a conversation pieceI also tried and tried to get 1st place in the Peach Days 10K because I wanted the cute trophy.  The year I finally won it, they decided to give medals instead. I was so disappointed that Dave had one made for me and gave it to me for Christmas.
Lunch ~ Have any question answered, what would it be? Will I ever be a grandma?  Hah  All kidding aside, I think I would want to know when I was going to die.  I know many people don't want to know that, but I'm a prepare ahead kind of gal and I would like to know so I can prepare!
Dinner ~ What did you do on the 4th of July?  What are some of your traditions for the holiday (now or past)? I usually run a race. I have run the Freedom 15K, the Perry 5K, and the past several years the Honeyville Freedom 5K.  Then we sometimes have a cookout with Dave's family and always go to the fireworks wherever we are - lately at Pioneer Park.  Sometimes we go to the cabin.  I remember seeing fireworks in every town we passed as we drove home on the 4th a few years in a row.  When I was a kid we always went camping to Lava Hot Springs.
Midnight Snack ~ What is your favorite bumper sticker? 0.0 I don't run
When I see that bumper sticker on a car, I just laugh out loud.  It is so funny to me.
Recipe for the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for the week?)
I found this quote on a blog that was talking about "stillness" and it really made a profound impact on me because I tend to feel guilty unless I am not productive all the time.  It's long, but worth reading.  It is by Bernadette Logue.

"We are constantly in cycles of expansion and contraction. It is natural and healthy. It is vital that we are balanced in this way, growing, creating and expressing, then internalizing, hibernating, rejuvenating ready to come out again for more expansion. Like nature moves in cycles, so we too are moving in cycles.

"Problems arise when we think we should be in constant expansion and attempt to live that way - doing more, getting more, being more, attaining, achieving, creating, mastering, speaking, moving, making... there must be counter cycles to this. WHY? Because the magic does not just happen in the expansive times in your life...

"The magic is BREWED UP in the contraction phases...when you are resting, when you are retreating, when you are on vacation, when you are quiet, when you are with your family, when you are in nature, when you are reflecting, when you are learning, when you are meditating... all these hibernating, internalizing, retreating moments are the times when you recalibrate...

"There is something special that happens in the pauses, the gaps in between, that allows the spaces to then be filled with what you do, create and expand into. "It's like the gaps in a song, the dramatic pause before the next note sounds...

"Make like nature...ride these cycles with grace, in and out, up and down, outward and inward, creating and retreating, expressing and reflecting."
- Bernadette Logue

Congrats on all your trophies.
I like your midnight snack advice. Too often I am in the same thinking mode-that I must be busy. I must be doing something.
I want to learn to wait for the magic, to pause and enjoy that cycle.

You are going have to build an addition to hold all of your trophies! I LOVE your bumper sticker. I usually don't like bumper stickers but I think I could do that one!
Your Midnight Snack is PERFECT! I had the hardest time camping last week because I couldn't figure out how to relax. Obviously I need to start forcing myself to slow down.
