Three years ago, I started my very first blog post with these words:
"Okay...I know, I know... I am a total rookie at this blog stuff, so don't expect too much! But I can already tell it is my thing! I have wanted to get one up and running for a long time and I am so excited I have finally done it!"
And here I am three years and some 440 blog posts later!
I wish I still had the enthusiasm I did when I first started blogging. The sad truth is blogging takes time....a LOT of time! And I have not been able to give it the time I used to. It takes time not only in just the writing of the posts, but in the networking with other bloggers. I have not been able to keep up with all the blogs I used to read and comment on and I must say I truly do miss those friendships. But I also noticed many of them have cut back quite extensively as well.
Sorry, there is no contest or give away this year. Nothing could compare with the PURPLE one I did to celebrate my first anniversary anyway. That was crazy! Check it out ---> here .It was interesting to see the number of posts I did the first year compared to now.
2008 - 237 posts
2009- 147 posts
2010 - 54 posts
2011 - 5 - so far
At that rate, this year's stats aren't looking so good! The crazy thing about this year's Blogiversary is that someone else wrote a comment on my latest post wishing me a Happy Blogiversary today. Had they not done that, I would have let it go and forgot! That is proof I need to blog more! But I will never quit blogging! I LOVE BLOGGING! After all it has treated me well.
Because of this blog I was nominated and WON the Sego Lily Search for the Sego Lily Blogger which meant a year's worth of very expensive SPA TREATMENTS! It wasn't all a party, there was work involved in the fact that I had to blog about each and every treatment. Doesn't sound too bad BUT because of the time I had to spend doing that for a full year, I neglected my own blog. Was it worth it? The jury is still out on that one! BUT, I do have to say, that was one fabulous pampered year! Ahhhh....... I truly enjoyed those spa treatments and I have gone into serious withdrawal since it ended!
And due to this blog, I've had numerous opportunities to speak on blogging at women's conference's and other forums to promote blogging which I truly enjoyed.
I also had a rather large write up on me and my blog in the Ogden Standard Examiner two years ago that was a shock and surprise! That post is ---> here.
All in all, blogging has brought me some great things in my life - the very best of which is having made many bloggy friends and having my own personal history saved as well as keeping extended family updated on what is happening in our lives.
Blogging is one of the greatest inventions of the century and I am glad I have been a part of it for these past three years!
Here's to many more!
