MY ANSWERS

Breakfast ~ Post a picture of the current wallpaper on your phone.
Lunch ~ Who do you aspire most to be like? There are so many people I admire and look up to and want to be like, but the ultimate person that I truly aspire to be like is the Savior.  I am just in awe at how He is so patient and humble and kind and loving and just such a good person.  If I could be even a fraction as good as He is, then I will feel successful.


Dinner ~ What do you think the secret to happiness is? Well, this one is easy and anyone that knows me well already knows what my answer is.  First of all HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE!  We can be happy IF we choose to be!  We can also be sad if we choose to be, but if we ARE sad, we can make a conscious choice to no longer be sad and to be happy instead.  The best way to do that is through GRATITUDE!  Gratitude is truly the secret to being happy once we have chosen to be happy.  And the sad thing is, it really is a secret!  Most people have no idea the power a little gratitude can have in changing their lives for the better.  Happiness is a choice and gratitude helps you stay happy once you decide you want to choose to be happy.  SO CHOOSE RIGHT NOW TO BE HAPPY!  Smile and tell yourself that life is great and you are so grateful you are alive and here to enjoy it!  There, now don't you feel happier already? ☺


Midnight Snack ~ Name three things you would like to change about yourself right now.
  1. I wish I was better at accepting change.  I have been living with a lot of anxiety (which is all new to me!) since McKay got his mission call to Russia and I am resisting the change of having him being gone for two years.  I am also resisting that my nest is emptying.  So I wish I could accept change more freely.  I know I would have much more peace if I did. 
  2. I would like to be able to be more focused on getting my house chores done more efficiently. I used to be extremely disciplined in this and then once Tyson passed away I really didn't want to waste my life away cleaning.  I gained a clearer perspective of the most important things in life, but because of that I got off my cleaning schedule and now I always feel like I am playing catch-up. I need a better balance with it right now.
  3. I would like to be even more friendly than I already am.  I am a very friendly person, but since Dave's new calling, I feel like I need to be even more so because there are a lot of people who know who I am that I don't know who they are now.  Sometimes I catch myself just turning inward when I need to reach out and just be friendly to everyone I meet. I need to make more of an effort to go out of my way.

Recipe of the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life what is it just for the week?) When the storms and winds come beating upon you, instead of letting them get you down, be firm and strong and show that storm who is boss.  I have felt like Satan is trying SO hard in every way this past week to discourage me and my son who is preparing to serve a two year mission.  I have let it get me discouraged and down.  My son is the one that noticed what was happening and once he made me aware that it was Satan, I was better able to resist the discouragement and to just move forward with what needs to get done.  Oh, the cunning one is so wise and knows how to get each of us individually.  But if we are aware that he is being a bully, then we can fight back with even greater strength!

I have had a few discussions with different members of my family this week about Satan and his antics. When we are heading in the right direction and something goes wrong or we get frustrated we know it's him and I love that because he tries to interrupt us but actually confirms what we are doing is right and good. I love that we have more power than him and so much more good help from the other side! :)
