MY ANSWERS

Breakfast ~ What was your most embarrassing moment this week? I guess when the internet/cable guy came over.  I thought he was just delivering a DVR box, but he had to go to each TV in the house and hook it up.  Dave was with him most of the time, but when they came into our bedroom, I was sitting on the floor giving myself a pedicure.  Great!  I was also embarrassed that my room was not as clean as it should have been.  I wish I would have known he was going to go in there because would have motivated me to get all that stuff put away.
Lunch ~ Did you ever get in trouble at school?  Explain. In 4th grade my teacher Mr. Bendixon made me stand at the chalkboard with my nose touching it because I had been chewing gum.  In Jr. High me and my friends were hanging around after school one day and I was goofing off and spun around and accidentally kicked in the glass on the side of a door.  I had to pay for it and got in trouble for being in the school after school was out.
Dinner ~ Have you ever had a poem or song written about you?  Dedicated to you?  I had a song written about me by my high school boyfriend but it was silly and no one else ever heard it.  He also dedicated a song to me at a talent show in college and instead of being flattered, I was extremely embarrassed and I remember my face going bright red.
Midnight Snack ~Have you ever been frightened for your life? Yes!  When we were living in St. Louis for medical school, my friend Shauna came out to visit and I had taken her into the city. We were on our way home in the dark and I took the wrong exit and we ended up in East St. Louis!  At the time I believe it had the highest crime and murder rate in the nation and just the week before a grocery store there made national news because a man went in and killed seven people!  We drove right past it!  We were the only white people around and with Utah license plates!  That was when car jacking was really popular and every time I came to a red light, I would stop but then if it was safe to go, I ran right through the light!  I didn't dare stop and wait with so many scary looking people around.  Every single store had bars on the windows and shady people were out walking around up to no good.  It was very intense!  I wasn't sure how to get us out of there and so Shauna whipped out a map and so here we were....two white girls in a car with Utah plates looking at a map...not a dead giveaway at all that we were prime crime targets!  Eventually we ended up at the Zoo and found two cops and so we asked them for directions, but they were extremely rude and didn't help us at all.  I have no idea how we got home safely!  We were very lucky!
I almost forgot about my trip to Europe with a college group when me and a few friends took the Tube (subway) to Shepherd's Bush because we heard it was the best place to shop.  We had no idea how dangerous that part of town was and when we got there if I remember right it was closed or just a huge disappointmentThere were people in that place and on the Tube that made us all fear for our lives!  I think it was dark as well.  And that same trip, while in Amsterdam, me and a bunch of girls and one guy walked to Red Light District from out hotel!  The guy told us he knew a shortcut and we were walking through dark alleys to get there!  I just remember thinking if my parents could see me now, they would never again let me out of their sight!  hah
Recipe of the Week ~ (instead of your recipe for life what is it just for the week?)  Embrace the changes that life sends your way.  You can't really change them, so embrace them.

I use to get embarrassed when the pest control guys came to spray because I have many rooms that are a mess....I don't care anymore because I figure it could be worse...not much but it could. I think our "angels" stay pretty busy keeping us save. I love your recipe for the week...Embracing Change..love it! I played and my answers are at http://dawnthemom.blogspot.com/2015/11/food-4-thought-friday.html

Enjoyed this. The story of your being frightened for your life is so like mine...at dental school with hubby, downtown Washington D.C. at night. Oh, how did we ever get by with out GPS, apps and the like?
