Ladybug Tea Party!

Our Young Women group had a Mother/Daughter Ladybug Tea Party (the one I wrote about being stressed out over because we - the Mia Maid leaders - were in charge of it!) and I promised I would blog it. I couldn't find the time until now. I am only about 11 days late...but better late than never, right!!!
We had a great time! These are the invitations

Our purpose was to teach the girls poise, graciousness, and etiquette. We wanted to teach them how to take the "bug" out of ladybug...

It was held at a brand new reception center. They have this cool limo and so all the leaders got our photo taken in front of it...unfortunately now you can't really see the awesome car! Here we are again...showing how to act like real ladies!!! One more... We have way too much fun together!

We took photos of the girls with their moms (and hats!) as they arrived. This is Sara (in middle) with her leader Tammy and Tammy's daughter because Sara's mom was unable to attend.
Sooooo cute! They are having a blast!

McKenzie and me trying to act sophisticated. On second thought, I'm not really sure what we were trying to do!
Stephanie and her mom. This is me and Bonnie...once again, I'm not sure what we are trying to do!
Jen, Bonnie, and Marilyn getting ready to serve the refreshments. It was yummy! We had chicken salad in mini rolls, fruit kabobs, luscious punch, and chocolate cake (of course!) with little ladybugs on it! Everyone helped make it so wonderful!

Just having another round of punch...

We decorated the tables with red tablecloths and then put Junior Mints scattered on the top to look like a ladybug. It turned out cute. Would have been even cuter if the tables had been round like we planned, but we couldn't fit that many in our alloted space.

We played some get to know you games with the mothers and daughters.
Bonnie gave an excellent talk on how to speak like a lady. She talked about not using substitute words and read the Grouchy Ladybug. It was the best talk!

Here is her cute handout she passed out along with a ladybug magnet.

It is a quote by Margaret Nadauld about how we have enough worldly women, we need more women of God.

Okay, which one of these do you think we had for our guest speaker???

WRONG!!! ☺

We had Shauna! A real lady!!! And just as cute as a bug! She did a great job and talked a lot about how to be a real lady in today's immoral world. She shared with us a lot of her own personal stories and it was awesome. She is the one standing up in the back..
She also gave each girl one of these darling folders with lots of handouts on etiquette in all kinds of various things...cell phone, table manners, etc.

A great time was had by all!

That looks like it was a great night. I think I will steal some of these ideas for my yw. Did you just make the invites from scratch or buy them like that?

Sara~
Yes we made the invites from scratch. Way easy! Just used cardstock. The black dots are just paper punched holes.

Jen~
It is too much fun! But I am loving it!

Yvonne~
I get to work with the best women and the girls are amazing!

What a cool idea! And the limo!! I'm in. I haven't worked in YW for ten plus years or so. I've missed it. When you play the organ, nobody thinks you can do anything else. I'm moving to your ward.

Hey, so it was all cute and stuff, but what is the deal?!! I know you took way more pictures than that. Why in the world did you choose to put me and my mom up there? I mean come on, there were so many choices. :D You did great. your blog showed the activity perfectly.
