MY ANSWERS:
Breakfast
What is your favorite place in your house and why? Describe it or add a photo.
My bedroom. It is just so cozy and I love to go there to relax. I have a gas fireplace in there and I love to sit in front of it with a good book or my laptop.
Lunch
If your spouse or significant other were a light bulb, what wattage would they be? 25 -60 -75 -100 or a dim black light?
Since Dave is pretty darn bright, I have to say 100... (even though I really like those black lights since they are PURPLE not black!)... but if there were a 120 wattage or higher, I would pick that for sure because he is one of the brightest people I know.
Dinner
Name something that would disqualify you if you were a contestant on Fear Factor.
Pretty much anything that has to do with eating or touching ANYTHING that crawls, smells, was inside of something else that was once alive, is slimy, or just plain disgusting. I am pretty sure I wouldn't get past the tryout stage on that show!
Midnight Snack
What is something you do that helps you to escape for a while?
A good movie or book. Surfing the internet or reading other blogs. Going out to lunch with friends. Being around my Young Women girls. Shopping. Eating something really rich and chocolatey! Long, hot, bubbly baths. Calgon take me away!
Recipe for this Week (instead of your recipe for life - what is it for just this week?)
Make lots of memories for they will outlive everything else.
PLEASE PLAY !!!! Come on you know you want to!

Blogging For Dummies 101 ~ WHAT?

Okay my fellow bloggers...
So as I have thought about this, I decided it would be a GREAT idea to get YOUR input of what things you think would be helpful for beginner bloggers to know based on your own experience with blogging... since you are all in the advanced class Blogging for Smarties 396! Though some of you have even surpassed that and are in blogging graduate school or a Doctor of Blog. Yes, you know who you are! As for me, I am still in the awkward stage of junior high blogging. So any input you can share would be greatly appreciated!
Also what things you wish you would have known sooner, problems you have had, successes, helpful hints, how to balance blogging, WHY you blog, ya know... just ANY GREAT SUGGESTIONS you have!
I can't wait to hear what you have to offer! I am sure it will help all of us!

Tag
You are supposed to choose the fourth picture from your fourth folder and post it. Now that seems like a relatively easy thing to do, IF your folders are in the list file....but mine are not and so I had to decide if I was going to choose the fourth one DOWN or the fourth one ACROSS. I thought BOTH were worthy of posting and so that's what I did!!!
My parents are on the left and Dave's are on the right. Dave's sister Linda and hubby Lynn are to the far right. Their son Trevor is in front of them. Notice Lynn's video camera in his lap. It is huge!!! Click to enlarge. We used to tease him he was from the Channel 5 News shooting news footage! I am happy to report he no longer has to carry that puppy around. They now finally own a mini one.
I tag Karen, Shauna, and Audrey.
I found this photo in the same folder and just couldn't resist posting it too...since it IS Halloween and all! That is McKay looking out our window and that SPIDER you see is REAL! It is a tarantula. We have lots of them around here. The interesting part is, the only time of year that we see them is around Halloween! Creepy....

Think You Had A Crumby Day?
I received some sad news~ that made me smile ~in my inbox this morning. Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, HungryJack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children: John Dough, Jane Dough and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.
The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

♥ Cyber Hug ♥
Her very kind words about my blog totally made my day. Sniff...sniff... I didn't even know she read my blog until I received it. I have since been reading hers and it is very entertaining and creative. Check her out here. Thank you so much Fawndear! I feel so honored! It's so nice to know someone appreciates my insanity! It's like getting a big hug right out of cyberspace... ♥
Now for my favorite part of getting a bloggy award - passing it on to others! The rules are simple - choose seven blogs you love, post a link - then leave a comment telling them they have been awarded. I would like to pass this award on to the following WONDERFUL blogs (though every single blog on my blogroll is more than worthy):
Jen at Living The Life
Earlgirl at Band of BrothersEarlgirl is a very talented writer and is able to use words and phrases in such a way that makes you think you are reading a novel at times. She is also the mother of all boys and so some of her posts just leave me just rolling. Her blog has a lot of variety, is often very though provoking, but is never dull or boring.
Jody at Doran and JodyJody is also a dear friend and the one responsible for helping me turn into a blogger maniac. She was more than willing to come over and help me get started. I wonder if she ever thinks she has created a bloggin' monster! Jody's blog is very down to earth and real. She has a unique style of writing that is so fun to read. She comes up some stuff that just makes me laugh and makes me wonder how she ever thought of it! I love her sense of humor.
Sandra at Full Bellies ~ Happy KidsAs you can probably tell from this blog name, it is one full of yummy recipes! It is a lot like the Pioneer Woman Cooks blog because she posts great pictures of the steps in cooking her wonderful recipes. One of my favorite things about it is she also does a weekly menu of all three meals. It's so nice to go there and get great ideas for dinner. Check it out! You'll be glad you did.

50 ODD Things
Serenity Sunday ~ A Child's Prayer

To hear the song without my blog music, scroll down to my playlist and click on the far left button to pause it.

There is just nothing as precious as a prayer offered up by a child. The total faith and sincerity that they offer is so touching. My little McKay always reminds us every single night (without fail!) to: "Remember to say your prayers" or "Don't forget to say your personal prayers before you go to bed." He has an unwavering faith in the power of prayer and is an inspiration to the rest of us. A pure childlike faith...
Have a Serene Sunday... enjoying those few tranquil moments in today's busy world.

MY ANSWERS...
Breakfast
Would you rather be really hot or really cold?
I would so much rather be more hot than cold. I really HATE to be cold! It literally paralyzes me when I am too cold. Once I am really cold it seems to go deep in my bones and I have a difficult time getting warmed up. If I am too hot, I can easily cool down instantly by jumping in a pool or cool shower...or just pouring water over my head! It's no wonder sitting by my firepace is my favorite place to be in the winter!
Lunch
Name three things (modern conveniences) you could not live without?
Well, okay I could probably live without these things if I HAD to, but these are the ones I would surely HATE to have to try and not have!
Toilet ~ nuff' said!
Shower or bath with HOT water!

The last one is a toss up between the Internet and my cell phone.

Dinner
If you were the eighth dwarf, what would your name be?
Purrky ~ derived from the words Purple, Perky, and Purr (I love cats!) Well, that's the best I could do!
Midnight Snack
Would you rather live to be 100 and sick, or live to be 50 (dying from a freak accident) and healthy?
Oh that's tough since I am really not that far off from 50... I can't even imagine dying in a few short years! Yet I don't really want to be sick and 100 either! Being sick AND old is not a good combination! I think if I could choose, I would like to live to be about 80 - if I am reasonably healthy.

1. One of the best concerts/plays/movies I ever saw that I really didn't think I'd like was hmm...can't think of one I didn't think I would like. But my favorite plays are the ones in Jackson Hole in the summer. I love all of those!
2. Zucchini Bread Semi Homemade (it is so easy and so yummy! RECIPE is at the end of post) is a recipe I recently made (or meal I recently ordered) that was delicious! (thanks Heather!)
3. It's time for Halloween and saying good bye to nice weather! Our local forecast predicts SNOW this weekend!!! Argh!
4. Sarah Palin is quite refreshing.
5. If I never hear the word (starts with a P and rhymes with hiss) again, it'll be too soon.
6. To one side of the curving road was a boy and on the other was a ghoul!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finishing writing my talk, attending Bryce's football game and freezing my buns off!!! tomorrow my plans include attending (and speaking at) our churches youth yearly planning meeting (at 7 a.m.), attending an American Mothers Mini Conference, cleaning, and then maybe chillin'... I hope! and Sunday, I want to go to my meetings (Bishop Youth Committee) and our three hour block of church, and hopefully sneak in a nap somehow!

Here's a REAL recipe for the week!

Zucchini Bread Semi-Homemade
1 Spice Cake Mix (Duncan Hines is best)
½ C. Water
¼ C. Veg. Oil
3 Eggs
1 ½ C. Zucchini
¼ C. Brown Sugar (to taste and for extra calories) ☺
Mix well. Spray pans w/ cooking spray SUPER WELL!
Bake 30-40 minutes at 350 or until toothpick comes out clean.
Yields 2 medium sized bread pans. Enjoy!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~1. Do you play any musical instruments? If so, which one(s)? If not, is there one you always wanted to know how to play? I took piano lessons for 10 years, so I guess you could say I play it.☺ I used to play the clarinet in Jr. High, though I wanted to play the flute. I really want to learn how to play the harp someday soon!
2. Do you sing well? Do you sing along in the car? Do you use head motions? Sing well? Hah! I get by, but that's about it. I love to sing in the car if I am alone and no I don't use head motions at least that I am aware of!
3. Who was your teen music crush? I LOVED Bobby Sherman and Shaun Cassidy!
4. What is your favorite type of music? I really like all kinds of music with the exception of hard rock, rap, and "hard" opera...lol. I listen to soft rock the most, but have a new appreciation for country.
5. Who are your three favorite musical artists? Josh Groban, Donny Osmond (yes it's true!- I didn't even like him as a teen, but love his voice now!), do I dare say Barry Manilow??? Celine Deon and Faith Hill are also favs.
6. Does your church play traditional or praise songs, or a combination? Mostly hymns.
7. What is your favorite hymn? Lead Kindly Light, Be Still My Soul, I Believe In Christ.
8. What is your favorite praise song? I Know That My Redeemer Lives and I Stand All Amazed
9. What is the strangest musician's name whose music you like? EMINEM --well at least I think his name is the strangest, even though I don't really like his music. Anyone that is going to take on such a high class name as M&M should be really REALLY good! ☺
