Young Women in Excellence

Two posts in one day! Wow... Remember what I said about blogorrhea??? ☺

Our Young Women in Excellence theme this year was based around the Olympics. This is a night where the girls get to shine and show what they have been working on all year with their Personal Progress. It was a lot of fun! The girls have been working hard!

This is the cake I made for the refreshments

These shots below are of Dave and Cole trying to retrieve a bunch of balloons that accidently got away from us BEFORE the meeting! Dave rigged up an interesting device to be able to reach them and then grab them with duct tape. It was pretty ingenious! They got them ALL down and saved the day! An olympic event in and of itself! Gold medal effort for sure!

*The gold and silver medals (they are wrapped up cookies the girls made).
*Brooke and Cole were the MC's and did a great job.

*The Bishop speaking (his talk was amazing!)
*The silver medalists
*The gold medalists (these are the girls and leaders that earned their Young Womanhood recognition during the year---not an easy feat!)
*Yours truly speaking

*Me, Loraine, Tammy, and Jen with our GOLD MEDALS! We earned them! I really miss these women! And the fun we always had! They are now serving in other organizations...:(
*The bottom right is our Stake YW leaders (Lynda and Michelle) that came to support us. They are great!

*Me and Steph (one of my Laurels)
*The hula hoop shots were taken AFTER everyone else left and we were cleaning up. This is what happens after hours. Dave took the photos but seemed to miss the other FIVE or SIX people that were also making fools of themselves! At least Jen is in there!

Dave and I with my Gold Medal.

When they earn their award, they get a real nice medallion too.

It was a great night. The Beehives and their leaders were in charge and it was so nice to not have to worry about a thing, knowing it would be wonderful. And it was! I have great girls and amazing leaders!

I wish I could get my daughter more involved in YW. It would be so good for her. Looks like a great program and that you had fun.

Hey Stacy-
Yes the Olympic rings were made out of the hula hoops....only there were seven instead of five for all the value colors!
