Creeped Me Out!!!

Little Miss Jod-fet sat (laid) on her tuffet
Reading her book today.
When along came a (GINORMOUS!) SPIDER
And crawled right on her,
Frightening Miss Jod-fet away!!! (To the mental ward!)

No...this is not an early Halloween Post. I wish it wasn't so, but the above is true! It REALLY happened! And to me....an hour ago...(WHY ALWAYS ME??) the one who hates spiders with a passion!

Yes it is true...I was lying in a little patch of sun on my bedroom floor trying to get my hair to dry a little more (I had just returned from getting it trimmed). I was engrossed in a book when this little beetle looking bug crawled across my hand. At first I thought it was a Box Elder bug because we have a lot of those around here. But it was some kind of gray beetle. I was so impressed how well I handled it.

No screaming, no freaking out, no hyperventilating.
Just pure calm as I flicked him off me. As I was patting myself on the back, the thought crossed my mind how lucky I am to live in a house that I am able to lay on the floor and read a book without being afraid of a bunch of bugs crawling all over me. As I continued basking in the warm sun and enjoying my book, I felt what I thought was the same beetle crawling on my arm once again. I didn't panic, I just brushed it off. As I turned to see it after I brushed it off, I saw THIS instead

Are you ready for this???

Are you SURE you are ready for this???

Okay, here goes....

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK!!!!!!

Yes, yes, YES!
THAT (one JUST like it!) was crawling on ME!!!!
Only it was even bigger than that one!!!
Can you even believe it??

I was just laying there minding my own business when some enormous wolf spider (on steroids!) decides to start crawling all over me and the whole time I am thinking it was some tiny little beetle!!!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

I know it isn't even necessary to reveal to you the fact that I screamed very, VERY loudly. Or the fact that my heart rate soared through the ceiling, or the fact that I almost hurled because it upset me so, or the fact that I will probably never -EVER be able to lay on my bedroom floor again. No, those are pretty much a given.
Thankfully Dave was in the other room in the shower at the time, and he immediately got out to rescue me. I am soooooooooo grateful! If I had been alone there is no telling what I might have done.
Usually when I see a spider and I have none of my SWAT team present, I will take a glass or a jar and put it on top of the thing. Then I will put a book on top of the jar just as a precaution. I don't like to kill them...not even with a shoe. I am afraid all their relatives will come and attend the funeral. Just getting close enough to them to put the glass or jar on top is pretty daring for me. And just in case you are thinking I am a sorry wimp...go here.

Well, at least I know what I am going to dream about tonight...

Sweet dreams to you all too!!!

Double up on the EWWWW! I hate spiders too. Yesterday, outside my house, by my front door, mind you, I killed a black widow and a big wolf spider. Ugh, my boys thought I was the coolest mom, but really, I had to. What if they got in the house? I have shivers! Ewwww, grodies! That last picture is so wrong!

Now that just gives me the creeps! I hate spiders of any kind - especially those big wolf ones! But, I guess it is that time of year when they are trying to get inside.... though not welcome!!!

Yuck! I see what you're talking about now.

I hate spiders. I'll think about that last picture all day long. I'll wonder is that crawling on my leg every time I feel some thing.

I am so impressed you didn't pass out on the spot! I absolutely don't do spiders! Hate the things with an intense passion too! Good thing you have lots of boys around to protect you!

Oh the chills!! Ew, ew, ew! I swear spiders are attracted to the ones that hate them the most. The night I found one snoozing on my pillow next to me I almost died!
